I guess we are Maryland bound..... - DH found out last night....
MomToJade&Jordan wrote: We are headed to Ft. Meade Maryland next. I'm pretty happy about that. It's on the East Coast and it's the mainland. There's a military hospital right there too. I guess as soon as I get there I am going to go up there and say Hi, I'm due in 6 weeks. I've heard that it's a really good hospital too. DH is a little daunted because he will only be one of many there, but I figure he will find a way to make his name known. He works really hard at his job and he's a very good NCO. I'm hoping NSA will like him so much that they will offer him a job and we can get out of the military. Those jobs can start at 50k a year. That will be very nice. So we should be here until at least Sept 1st and then off we go. I will be seeing my first real winter in 18 years. I am going to be COLD. LOL!!!!!
amynicole21 replied: Hooray! I love Maryland - we're considering moving there eventually. You'll love it there - close to DC and Baltimore so there is tons to do. Yay!~
gr33n3y3z replied: I'm glad everything is set in stone now Oh yes cold and snow see what you have to look forward too
Boys r us replied: You'll like Maryland..plus I can add you to my list of PC mom's and babies I could possibily meet since you'll be close to me
I know it's a relief to finally know where you're headed!!!
amymom replied: I am glad you have something set. Maryland is nice.
A&A'smommy replied: ooo I'm kinda jealous you are going to see SNOW!!! YAY I'm glad your happy about where your moving too!!
kit_kats_mom replied: Cool...literally LOL
A Florida girl who's been living in Hawaii moving to the snow? Turn your AC down now and start trying to thicken that blood up.
That's really a beautiful part of the country. How far is the base from DC?
I'm just happy that we live near your parents...no excuses, I'm sure we'll see you occasionally
MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!!!! Oh yeah. I all ready have the drive planned out. I drive South on I-95 until I have to find the way to Tallahassee. I will stay there for a couple of days and then head down to Tampa where I will stop for a couple of days. Then off to Naples I go. I will probably stop on my return trip up as well.
I don't think it's more then 30 miles from DC which is going to be really cool. I have checked out the website for where I will be having Jordan and the birthing rooms look awsome.
Yeah. Snow. I've been in it, but not since I was 12. I am going to be like the snowbirds heading South for thw winter. LOL!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: We will leave the light on for you!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm so glad you know where you are headed next! I have a good friend that lives in Hollywood, MD. Actually she is an online buddy that I just met in Atlanta when I went.
That's about all I know of Maryland. I can't wait to hear how the move goes.
Alice replied: I'm not sure I would count on tons of snow in Maryland, but certainly more than you're used to.
Wait until you see Baltimore's Inner Harbor-- it's wonderful!!
Congrats-- at least you know where you're headed, and it's lots closer to home!!
ediep replied: oh, I love Maryland, we have been to a few yankee games there and the inner harbor is awesome! Thats only a few housr from me too, we could meet you all too!!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!!! I was telling my Mom I can go to Yankees games now. I heard the Inner Harbor is nice. I think it's really cool that I am going to be closer to everyone. Hawaii is beautiful, but I am ready to go closer to home.
jdkjd replied: Congrats and YAY! And what a cool place to move...not too big but close to all of the cool big cities.
3_call_me_mama replied: Very cool! MD is beautiful as others have said, It's a lot closer to VT than hawaii, at least the saem time zone LOL! But Glad you are coming to the east coast.... and movign closer to your family.
Celestrina replied: I lived in Germantown, MD for a few years. You have to see Alexandria, VA. Great shops down there. Try to get a babysitter when you can - they have some of the best restaurants in the DC area. That is probably the thing I miss most. You are lucky to see winter in Maryland. They take perfect care of their roads which makes driving in the snow much easier. One other thing - avoid any car with diplomatic licence plates. Every one we saw had a horrible driver.
