I don't understand - My Space!

mckayleesmom replied: Comments.....People can leave you comments either in your blog or on your profile page....When you BLOG....people can subscribe to it...that way they will get a notice when you wrote another journal entry...but you can also make it private or make it to where only certain people can read it....

ashtonsmama replied: OK-well from the my myspace addiction (that I conquered) last year, here is my advice/help (not sure how helpful it'll be, but I'll give it a go)!

On blogging:
Basically, yes, it is like a journal entry, and like a journal, you can choose to keep it private or let people read it. Your own decision. At the bottom of where you post a new blog (I'm assuming you know how to get there), there is a little box/button thing you can check/bubble that says "private" or something of the sort, that will make it so when people click on it to read it, it will say "this blog is private"...blah blah blah!
And on people subscribing to your blog, basically if someone wants to see when you've posted a new blog or wants to get updates when you do, they subscribe to your blog. And it will automatically send them a notice every time you post a new one so they can go read it if they want to...that's how that works.

And on searching:
Sometimes people don't put in their last names, or put in a different name, and that makes it harder to find them. I don't know why (if you did in fact put in your first and last name) that you wouldn't come up, there shouldn't be like a waiting period for your account to kick in or anything...if you want, PM me (or just reply here) your last name, what you registered under when you signed up, and I'll try to search for you...let you know what I find! You do know how to sign in and such, correct?

The FAQ on myspace that they have is sometimes helpful, and basically just start doing it and it will all make sense after you get used to it. Good luck! I know it's a little complicated, but it's fun!

Also, a good site, for finding what's called a layout (putting pictures/bands/colors/patterns, etc.) on your background of your profile-

You can look yourself up under the email you registered under, your name, etc.
It might be easier doing it the email route, that may be why she asked for it...

luvbug00 replied: oh dear explaining it is hard... it doesn't find you as your real name it finds you as the name you regester with FE My name on myspace is NADS looking for me by Nadia you'd never find me. also when you register make sure to fill in your school info. it will then update you on anyone from your alumni who have joined and you can search the alumni already there. you can even specify the year and age and so on. I just have gotten the hang and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO addicted.
