I don't believe it!!! - Someone pinch me!

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I've always had trouble getting Maddie to bed at night. Ethan goes to bed like clockwork between 8-8:30 EVERY night with no problems. So, this past week I decided to make her go to bed at the same time. I've made sure I have dinner cooked, eaten, baths and everything done by 8:00 and I tell her "Okay, it's bedtime. Brush your teeth and hair, pick out a book and I'll meet you in your room." We read and she drifts off to sleep. All of this is done way before Scotty gets home of course. Otherwise it would never work. Although, he was here last night and she went to bed and was asleep by 8:30. ohmy.gif I'm just so impressed. Maybe she really is growing up now. Normally she would throw fits and come out of her room a thousand times, stalling going to sleep. dry.gif And they both sleep thru the night now!! elephant.gif

It is amazing what those few hours do for me. I have alone time now. I can talk to Scotty when he gets home with no interruptions or fights (Maddie hates for us to talk) rolleyes.gif Last night we were in bed before 10!!! That is just amazing! (and we didn't have a child between us!)

coasterqueen replied: YAY! Congratulations!!!

I think I'll sit here and DREAM about the day that's going to happen for me. rolling_smile.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: That is an amesome feeling..

Has her school started?

It makes a difference. Sometimes my kids (teenagers too) want to nap after school and then go to be when they are suppose too,

Learning takes alot of energy...

Good job Mom...

Hillbilly Housewife replied: ohmy.gif

Why can`t MY kids do that?

wub.gif WTG Maddie and mom!

mammag replied: That is wonderful!!! That is one thing I miss. Before I had Keegan I was able to have that alone time at night after all the years of having someone in bed with me or up untill all hours of the night. Now I've started all over again. laugh.gif Oh well, I guess it's the trade off for all the good we get from having kids.

amynicole21 replied: Wow - nice! Sophia is still taking about an hour to get down at night. It's exhausting. snooze.gif I usually end up falling asleep while trying to get her to sleep! Sometimes in the middle of a sentance during story time blush.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie starts school on the 6th of Sept. happy.gif I wanted her in this routine before school started so she wouldn't be so tired, kwim?

Seriously, I thought this day would never come. I gave it a week before I bragged about it, though. laugh.gif I didn't want to jinx it.

mom21kid2dogs replied:
Yeah, me too! thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OMG WTG Maddie!!! I hope she keeps it up for you!!!

jacobsmama replied: Isn't that a great feeling?? Jacob goes to sleep on his own now and we get alone time too and it just so much better that way we need it...So happy for you..

GOOD JOB thumb.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Wow...way to go Maddie...both mine are in bed by 7....sometimes Russell even falls asleep before that.

sunshine girls replied: i wish it was like that in my house! Elle's good, she's in bed at around 8:30, Gwen's a completly different story. She still sleeps in her crib, my mom brought it for me and it's pretty big so she still sleeps in it. She goes to bed at 8:30 like Elle, but she always try's to get out. If she hasn't got her head stuck between the wooden bars she's got her legs stuck in between them, or else she tries to climb out, or she call's for me or screams. I can't wait for a night when I don't hear "MOMMY I'M STUCK, HELP GWENNIE". (she never says me, she always refers to her self as Gwennie rolleyes.gif )
