I didnt get the job - and I know why

She has filed FMLA for everything and misses at least 1 day a week from work. And I didnt use her as a reference but she was sure to put her good word in for me. And then yesterday she went asking them about if I got the job or not. And well I just got the formal e-mail from them stating thanks for applying but we are looking at people with better qualifications. Which is bullcrap. I have WAY more than enough experience to work for them. If anything I am over qualified. No where near under qualified. So I know I didnt get it cause of her.

I worked for a bank once and we got a new boss. Turns out she came from the town where my cousin (who I don't see at all) worked for her. Well, she had to fire my cousin and so right away had a bias against me. I really had to prove myself. I wish they had given you a chance to do that.

Well, it just means something better is going to come your way.

Nope. They never called here (where I work now) for a reference. I have the best recommendation letter you could possibly have. I know cause I wrote it myself and had my boss sign it. LOL.
Its okay I will get over it. I am just a little mad about it

Oh lord that was cracking me up. It does suck that they assumed you would have the same work ethic as your friend. I hope something better comes up soon. You are in a fam business right? When is your last day of work there?

I dont have one. I guess its when ever. They wont fire me or lay me off. But I cant have a raise, I cant get paid vacations anymore, I cant get paid for holidays, I cant get paid time off or sick time or anything. I havent had a raise in 3 years. But hey I still have a job

I see. People always think that working for family you will make tons of money..sometimes they expect you to work for less because you are family. Yeah at least you have a job till you find something better. Good luck.

We are really good at separating work, and family. And yea alot of people think that. Even they guys that work here think that just because I am related that I make tons of money. Not true. It was good until business slowed down. Thats what caused it.
