She's just hungry, that's all. But I know the feeling.

I agree with Mollie. She's just hungry, tired, scared, not sure of what is going on in the world and she's looking to you for that comfort. So she's probably not just hungry but needing you for comfort. What better way to comfort than to nurse.
BUT I do know the feeling....I had it with Kylie but it went away after awhile.
Hang in there!

PrairieMom replied: Hang in there. You are a great mommy. You can do this!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: i'm just glad i have this place to yell in... rather than at the baby....
moooooooooooo.
MyLuvBugs replied: Breathe!!! It will be ok. She's probably just going through a growth spurt and needs the extra milk. Most all of us have felt the same way you feel though. Just remember to breathe.
mckayleesmom replied: SHe is probably just comfort nursing...Maybe you can get her attention and talk to her and rock her...Maybe she is just unsure right now...and she needs some reasurance.

5littleladies replied: I know the feeling. It will get better, but that probably doesn't help to hear right now. Hang in there!
angelhair replied: it is hard in the beginning because your emotions are all jumbled up. hang in there and if you need to vent vent away hugs to you love dee
Tamatha replied: How old is she? Could she be hitting a growth spurt? Is it any better today?
When Trey is having those "mommy moments" (as I call them) where he wants to be held and nursed 24/7 I just remind myself (sometimes through the tears) that he will only be this small for such a short time. I try to change my frame of mind, not always successfully, to cherish this time I have with him. Soon enough, he'll be pushing me away and wanting to be independent.
I also learned today from a lactation consultant that this early nipple stimulation will have a positive effect on your long-term milk-supply!! So there is a big benefit to her being stuck to you!
Just kick back, latch her on, and enjoy the down-time. Soon enough, she'll be running around like a mad woman and you won't be able to catch her! It is frustrating when you feel like a boob and nothing more. Remember why you made the choice to breastfeed, and remind yourself that this, too, shall pass!
You're doing GREAT!!!!!
