I AM SO VAIN - I think something is wrong with me :)

moxee24 wrote: I have a DR. appt. in alittle over an hour and I am almost POSITIVE that I will not be coming home after words(nervous but fingers crossed)...and all I could think about today before when I was getting ready was about shaving my legs and how I didn't want to because it is very hard to bend and twist the right way to do a good job. SO guess what I spent a half hour, yes you read that right a whole 30 mins shaving my legs!!!! All because all I could think was what if I don't come home after the DR. appt and they send me to the hospital...I DON"T WANT ANYONE TOUCHING MY HAIRY LEGS!!!! EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW GROSS!!!!!! I am SO pathetic blush.gif

CantWait replied: No way, that's not VAIN!!!! I did the same thing every day for 5 weeks before Anthony showed up for the same reason. I started 5 weeks early because my first was born 5 weeks early and I wanted to be totally prepared this time.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I think every mother close to her due date fears the same thing!! You're not vain...totally normal IMO!

holley79 replied: I do the same thing. The doctor I have gets a kick out of it. She always tells me that the nurses or herself care that my legs aren't shaved. I do though. It takes me about 30 to 45 minutes to shave my legs. I probably won't be doing it anymore though because it makes me a little light headed.

Insanemomof3 replied: LOL! Have I told you lately that you are a DORK? wub.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: I was more worried about shaving "down there" than my hairy legs. KWIM? Sorry, to much info...but I knew 50 million people would be seeing my secret parts and I didnt want to look like a hairy beast! rolling_smile.gif
Trust me, when you are in labor, you could care less if your a hairy warewolf! You just want to get that baby out! I remember looking at my pictures of labor, my hair sticking straight up, no make up, and a funky look on my face...but did I care, heck no! I was glad I was holding my baby!
But at least youre thinking of the nurses and shaving your legs! I think I stopped doing that in the last trimester, I couldnt' reach! It was pretty scary!

kit_kats_mom replied: you arent as nuts as me. With K I actually showered, shaved, painted my toenails and posted to my message board...all after my water broke. We lived close to the hospital & they said I had an hour to get in LOL

After surviving12 hours of unmedicated l&d, I realized no biggie when Lauren was due.

C&K*s Mommie replied: See?? You are not vain! We all did the same thing or more.... laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I'm NOT laughing at you but I remember before I had alyssa at least a week before I KEPT my legs shaved (because that week I got checked 3 times i think rolleyes.gif ) and then day off (when i got induced) I shaved EVERYTHING, painted my toe nails took my time with make up so it would look nice, fixed up my hair yeah I'm a freak emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif Anyway I hope that you are having your baby right now!!! hug.gif

PhiMuMommy replied: LOL.. i did the same thing! after i called the dr and foudn out i was going to the hospitol i shaved my legs the best i could. (there were several places i couldn't reach..lol) but i tried.... tongue.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I never really found it hard to shave but I did do it every day for a month w/ Katy (from the day I went into labor w/ her the first time)

But for me I am trying to decide if I should start growing my hair out so I will be able make sure it's pulled back when I am in labor...I want to look cute in pictures and my current do has the very destinct possiblity of sticking everywhere after a few hours "work"

PrairieMom replied: I just gotta say to all you ladies, I have first hand experieance, and TRUST ME, you don't have to worry about what the Dr's to nurses think, becuase no matter how bad you think you are, you can't possibly compete with the grossest things they have come across. and that is the truth! puke.gif

holley79 replied:
Since I had L&D pretty much to myself, the nurses were telling me all kinds of stories. Needless to say I don't feel bad about anything. I did take a shower before meeting the new doctor though. I'm totally over the leg thing though. I say that now but I'll probably be in the shower in about an hour shaving my legs. LOL rolleyes.gif

mummy2girls replied: LOL... I did the same thing.... must be a girl thing! tongue.gif

MamaJAM replied: I ran in to the bathroom to shower while having contractions with my second DD -- turned out to be false-labor too and ended before I headed to the hospital at all....so I had nicely-shaved legs and nowhere to go! rolleyes.gif

You're not 'vain' -- you're just 'normal'. biggrin.gif
