How would you feel - if dh forgot to wish you happy bday
b&bsmom wrote: Ok I am not one for a big stink on my birthday ( which is today feb7) but all I ask my dh to do is have the kids make me at least a card. That is all. Well last night we both had to bowl( it is my usually night he was subbing) and he tells me it ruined his plans he was going to do something with the kids. He has known my birthday is the same day every year. He could have stayed home sunday instead of going out with his friend and taken the kids to get me something or have done something with them. Then this morning he left without saying happy bday. He then called me about 20 min later saying sorry he forgot and he also sent me an email. Still all I wanted was just happy bday and a card from the kids. It just stinks. Anyway sorry I just was wondering if I am being unreasonable. I have to work at the lanes tonight so it is not like we can do anything. It still stinks. Thanks for listening.
amymom replied: I agree it stinks. I am so sorry.

I would be so hurt if my DH forgot my b-day! Is there anyway he and the kids might could surprise you at the lanes tonight?? I'm sure he didn't mean to forget your b-day, but you know how men can be sometimes. I bet you he has something very special planned for you. Let me know what happens??

Ummm.... to be honest I could care less, if my DH forgot my birthday-- actually he is the one to remember whereas I would rather no one remembered at all. Sorry to be the downer, but that is how I feel.
MyLuvBugs replied: Well first of all....HAPPY B-DAY!!!
And I know how you feel. DH did that too me last year. He went to work without saying anything, then came home without saying anything, and made me a card on the computer a couple hours later when he realized he'd forgot. It's a crummy feeling, but giving them guilt trips works wonders. lol
kit_kats_mom replied: I agree with Nicole. My birthday was on the 4th and I was sick. DH wished me a happy birthday but I'd actually forgotten. I had to look at a calendar to check if it was true.

I have to admit, I'm the bad one. I always wait til the last second to do these things for Dh. I've been known to wake up minutes before he does, rush to the bathroom with a card and hurry up and write something in it like I put a lot of thought into it.
Dh and I are both that way sometimes. I think unfortunately, for us, life just gets in the way with kids and being so busy. We never used to forget the little things like that.

2nd I'd be PO'd big time! But if my husband forgets my birthday he would get into double trouble , I share my birthday date with my MIL. So let's say he tends NOT to forget.

I would be so po'd at DH that I wouldn't be able to see straight. Well, hope he makes it up to you
luvmykids replied: Sorry your birthday started like that. DH forgets mine every year, he only kicks in to gear once he realizes everyone else remembers!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hope it gets much better!
b&bsmom replied: Well, Dh came home at lunch and brought me flowers. He feels really bad. I told him he could do dishes and put laundry away tonight while I am working at the lanes and we will call it even. ( He ends up doing that on tuesdays when I work anyway) I must say I let the place get a little messy since I had the other 3 I watch today plus my own. Oh well. Thanks for all the birthday wishes you made my day.
