How much laundry do you do a week?

MoonMama wrote: I've been thinking about this a LOT lately. In an effort to "go green" more I have definitely cut down a TON. I used to do laundry every single day. ohmy.gif wacko.gif But now I'm down to 3 (big) loads of clothes a week, which includes all of our clothes worn that week (and Braedin beloved High School Musical blanket rolleyes.gif and bear, trust me they need it weekly laugh.gif). And then bedding and towels which is 1-2 loads a week. This still seems like a LOT to me, but it is a LOT less then before. How much do you do?

luvmykids replied: As little as possible rolling_smile.gif

But really, I have a huge frontloader and I still have to do about eight loads a week including towels and sheets.

mckayleesmom replied:
ditto

HuskerMom replied: I just do it when it needs done. Dh's work clothes get done more often though.

Brias3 replied:
Yep, same here. My new washer and dryer actually FITS alot more clothes than my old ones, but somehow I'm still doing about the same number of loads per week blink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Too often. But I am better about mixing loads so that I do less. We bought one of those large capacity washers and dryers. Which I guess isn't so green, but it does help cut down the amount of loads I do. Plus it "senses" the size of the load and fills the basin accordingly, without wasting water I suppose.

Calimama replied: 3 (sometimes 4) loads every week. 2 of clothes and 1 of sheets/towels

~Roo'sMama~ replied: About a load a day, two if I need to do towels. There are days when I don't do any, but it's usually every day. None of us have enough clothes to wait to wash them. tongue.gif

luvmykids replied:
Mine does too, I've been experimenting to see if more smaller loads or fewer big loads is better, mainly because the small loads take the same time to wash (but less water) but the drying time is SO short compared to big loads...so I'm trying to unscientifically figure out if using more energy washing but less drying is equal or less than less washing and more drying laugh.gif

youngmomofone replied: about 3. It's only my daughter and myself for now.

Our Lil' Family replied: 4-5 I think. Usually 2 of whites, 1 of towels/sheets and 1 of darks. I usually try to wash Tim's scrubs with the whites but sometimes they need their own load.

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Why don't you wash a big load, and then divide it in half to dry it? happy.gif

PrairieMom replied: It usually averages to about a load and a half a day. but now I am attempting CD, so I imagine it will go up a bit.
Last week when DH was gone I only did 2 loads for the entire week!
not counting bedding I guess, I do wash all our bedding once a week, and that is about 4 loads.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I do 2 loads of my laundery and 1-2 loads of Mackenzie's. DH does 1-2 loads of his.

Boo&BugsMom replied: About 4-5 loads each week, for a 4 person family. smile.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: it feels like I do about a million. I have a FL high capacity washer dryer and all loads are full. so

1 white
1 reds
1 lights
2-3 darks
diapers every 3-4 days so 8ish
(towels get thrown in with whatever color they are) and sheets....an extra 2 load a month it's embarrassing how often I forget about those

mommymommy replied: I do about 5 loads on my "Laundry day" and then 1-2 other days of the week..So alot..I always feel like I'm doing laundry lol

redchief replied: I don't do laundry. I got married so I didn't have to do such menial household tasks. tongue.gif emlaugh.gif
