How many of you thought...

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: you would go early with your first??? I'm sure some of you actually did go early, but I'm just curious if you all thought you should be overly prepared by like 30 weeks because you pictured it to happen just like the moms in the movies?? I totally remember that anxious feeling and wondering "what if my water broke now" and having DH test drive the route to the hospital like every weekend! I swear I don't even know where the hospital is exactly this time! LOL! Well my EDD came and went with my first with little to no dillation or efacement...total disappointment!!

DH's boss' wife is PG with her first (as you know) and she is constantly calling me for advice. And she said the other day "I just know I'm going to go early, I just have that feeling"...and I don't mean to giggle, but I want to tell her that new moms ALWAYS assume that. But I just let it be and told her to relax, because I guess you never do know. I just wonder if it's the universal worry for all new moms because we ALL said it in my prenatal class. I think pretty much all of us were late too...and had more than enough time to get to the hospital...nothing like the movies, huh??

mckayleesmom replied: I thought that too....and I was right...with Mckaylee....I actually went in for an ultrasound and she was breach. I had been having contractions so the doctor had me go to the Labor and Delivery unit at the hospital and sure enough...I was in labor and there wasn't enough fluid to turn her around. I had a c-section. Her heart rate also kept dropping..so they took her. I was early with Russell also because he was a scheduled c-section.

JP&KJMOM replied: I know I did and I think I believed I could will it to happen if I tried hard enough. laugh.gif

The night before my due date hubs decided to have about 20 people over to make bets on when JP would get there. Well no one took the next day (my due date) but @ 6 am my water broke so I got the money! Worked out good for me!

coasterqueen replied: Oh did I ever and everyone told me I'd go early with Kylie. They ended up forcing her out. rolling_smile.gif

BUT I never in a million years thought I'd go early with Megan. I was settling in for being overdue and so I didn't do a lot of things to prepare for her arrival. I did most of the nursery because my doc suggested it when she let me off here and there from bedrest in case I had to go on permanent bedrest. BUT I had nothing washed, no bag packed, no plan where to take Kylie, etc. Well, she sure showed me. tongue.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I thought I'd go early too. But he came a week late. It must be a first time mommy thing. tongue.gif

PrairieMom replied: I KNEW I would go early, my Doc even told me I would be lucky to make it to 37 weeks, I had preterm labor that I was on meds for, and had The boy the day after I stoped my meds at 36 1/2 weeks!
Now, I feel I will go early with this one too. laugh.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh yeah. And I actually did start the Day after thanksgiving, two weeks early....But the second I get to the hospital and out of the car....it stopped completely. But they kept me there for 4 hours for monitoring b/c I had dialated to 2 1/2 cm's and had started to afface, but it just stopped. Little stinker was fooling me. smile.gif

But nope, she decided that her due date was the right time. rolleyes.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I knew I'd be early with both and I was(37 and 37.5 weeks). Katy did try to come a month earlier than she did.

A&A'smommy replied: I didn't I prepared like they say too but I knew I wouldn't be early I HOPED I would be early but I didn't I actually had to force her out.. I wasn't too surprised because the morning off I had a feeling I would end up with a c-section! rolleyes.gif

kayla's mama replied: I had a feeling that I would go early with my early complications. Nope, she wanted to stay for ever. I never felt a contraction and I had her my due date by induction rolleyes.gif

1lilpeanut2love replied: I thought I would go early, but I didn't. I thought this because I was monitored twice a week and had hypertension and swelling. I was a 3cm for about 4-5 days[ I waited as long as possible to go to the hospital] I had her 1 day after my due date. I went to the hospital early that morning at 5 cm and had her a little over an hour later. OMG. I could have had her at home. GEEZ. That was scary!!!

luvbug00 replied: had pre term labor twice and NONE knows mya's real due date and they estimated she was at least 1 early. I knew she would be here quick though.

moped replied: I totally thought I owuld go early, but I was 12 days late!

booey2 replied: Never thought I would go early with Matthew, planned on the full term pg but he arrived 21 days early due to stress from DH and his past work situtation. I never had everything ready and we were scrambling to pack my bag. DH had to go home and get everything because when I went in I thought they would check me and send me home, nope they kept me over night and induced the next morning and he was born a little before 1pm. With Thomas I felt I might go early and planned to work right up til he was born. Little did I know it he wanted out early, 12 days to be exact so I was at work when I went into labour at about 2pm and he was born that night at 11:30pm at 12 days early. I think I just grow babies quickly. rolling_smile.gif
