House rules?!?

C&K*s Mommie wrote: Just out of curiosity, what are some of your major ones??

We have:

(1) No running
(2) turning the tv on & off repeatedly is out ...Kellie
(3) no jumping off of the fireplace hearth
(4) no (kids) eating in the living room (DH lets them get away with it) rolleyes.gif

Boys r us replied: The only one we really have is, No eating in their bedrooms..and that rule was developed out of some really bad experiences I suffered through while cleaning their rooms before this rule was in effect!

Otherwise, we pretty much let the kids be kids, we're really laid back parents!

sunshine girls replied: -Don't run in the house.
-No shoes inside.
-No attempting to jump from the top of the stair case to the bottom (that ones for
Gwen)
-If your not watching TV, don't leave it on.
-Don't turn lights on if the sunlight is enough, and switch them off when you leave the room (unless someone else is in the room and needs the light)

That's about all, except for my toilet rule. If you do a number one, leave the door open cause airing is fun. A number two, the window will do happy.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Um....

no food in bedrooms
no kid in bathroom unattended
no kid in parents' or baby's room unattended
no food in the vcr
no going in kitchen cupboards
no throwing toys.

other than that... I guess that,s it....

ammommy replied: The only ones that I can think of are
no playing in the dining room

not hitting/pushing/kicking/headbutting/tripping or generally tormenting your sibling

No jumping on or off of the furniture

CantWait replied: No hitting, punching, kicking, unless you're playing around with eachother.
No doing any of the above to the dog, that includes steping on him or pulling his tail.
No swearing or cussing.

That's it really, we're easy going. Sometimes if I'm not feeling well we'll make new rules up for the day cool.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: So far just these:

no yelling when someone is watching tv, having a conversation or on the phone
don't interrupt (unless you're bleeding) when someone is on the phone
no throwing hard objects (or it may cause the bleeding mentioned above and I'll have to cut my conversation short!)
no eating in bedroom (hasn't really been brought up yet, but I'm sure it will be)

I think that's it.

~KARA~ replied: a few of ours
1. dont stand between 2 people that are talking!
2. kids must be in other room if phone rings
3. no screaming
4. no hitting each other
5. when you walk out of a room shut off the light
6. if mom has socks on everyone has socks on.

kellibellisdillybear replied:
is #6 for cold purposes?

My3LilMonkeys replied: We don't have a whole lot of rules yet, but the girls are still young.
Brooke's rules:
1. No hitting/kicking/biting/hurting any family members or pets
2. No playing in the bathroom
3. No taking toys from your sister
4. No climbing on any furniture that is taller than you are.

Madison's only rule:

No putting anything in your mouth unless mommy/daddy says it's ok! emlaugh.gif She doesn't listen though! emlaugh.gif

DH's main rule:
You still have to help with the kids even if Mommy is home!!! thumb.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: LOL.. that is so true!! tongue.gif (goes back to the old saying... "if momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy..."

C&K*s Mommie replied:

I need to get my DH to read that a few times, possibly tell it to him in a subliminal message!

THANK YOU to everyone, for the sometimes hilarious responses.... but thanks for the responses nonetheless.

Debra replied: *No eating or drinking anywhere but the kitchen/dining room

*No climbing on the furniture

That's about it as the major ones!

MyLuvBugs replied: Well, she's small, so
1) NO BITING
2) No throwing TOYS, FOOD, or Shoes (she's obsessed with shoes)
3) No hitting
4) NO putting fingers in elec. sockets
5) No biting the cats or PULLING their tails (they don't really seem to like that)
and last but not least
6) No pulling on TV, XBOX, Computer, or any other electrical device wires or plugs.

Just some minor rules. lol laugh.gif
