Hi Everyone
holley79 wrote: Hey Everyone,
I first want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.
I will post a birth story when I have a little more energy.
Annika Lily was born at 0948 am on the 28th of Dec. She was 8 pounds 9 ounces 19 3/4 inches long. She has a lot of hair.
There were three of us admitted to L&D for induction and pitocin was started in our IVs. All three of us were given an Ambien for a good nights rest. Well at least 2 out of the three got some good nights rest. My water broke at 0300 hours. (I'll tell the rest in the birth story.)
Everything went very smooth. I did have some tearing and also another spot the doctor wasn't able to locate to begin with. He finally found it internally inside a fold (?). I lost a LOT of blood. I was pretty weak but started coming around. Then it hit me again. Needless to say I am anemic right now. Annika is nursing. We had a little problem with latching but we got it. I had wonderful nurses at the hospital. The other girls that had delivered sent their babies to the nursery at 8 at night and wouldn't have the nurses bring them back till 8 the next morning. I sent Annika to the nursery for about 3 hours the second night just to get a little breather. Annika was the only one released after the mandatory 48 hour stay.
Tonight I was nursing Annika and got the worse chills of my life. I almost was unable to put her down. DH had to take Annika to my mom's house and me to the ER. I feel like a freaking pin cusion. I have a UTI, have never had one of those but guess they are common. They were going to put me on an antibiotic that I wouldn't be allowed to nurse on. The lady suggested the BM center for donated BM. Well needless to say I had a little break down. I bawled my eyes out. My mom called an on call LC and talked to her. She told my mom what antibiotic I could take and still nurse. I was happy with that.
We got home about 10 minutes to midnight. Annika is asleep right now and I thought I would jump on here real quick and just let you guys know we were still around. When I have a little more energy I will get on here and get "caught" up.
