Help cracked heals. - Any ideas that will help?

Mommy2Be wrote: Does anyone know of anything that will help, Gracie has horrible cracked heals sad.gif. She says "they really hurt mommy" bawling.gifbawling.gifbawling.gif and I feel so sad and helpless sad.gif . I have tried everything under the sun that I can think of and everything my mom and mil can think of. I am at my wits end I don't know what else to do dunno.gif! I am now and always have rubbed her feet every night (relaxes her and puts her to sleep is no time) with lotion or cracked heal stuff and nothing is working should I just take her to the doctors? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

ammommy replied: Have you tried using A&D? I know it's a diaper cream, but it works wonderfully for dry skin. Put it on her heels, put cotton socks over her feet, and let it work it's magic. If nothing works, call the doc. You don't want them to get infected.

jdkjd replied: Aquaphor has been amazing on my heels. I would put a ton on the first night and in the morning exfoliate her heels gently with a scrub. Then put more on.

The exfoliation is important to get the dead skin off which dries and causes the cracking. My DH's hands used to end up bleeding every winter until I convinced him to use some of my scrub on his hands at night and put the lotion. Hasn't been a problem since.

I promise they will be better within a couple days or less.

mom21kid2dogs replied: i use vaseline and put socks over them when I go to bed. This has helped me but I have no idea if it would help a child!

jem0622 replied: Try pure vaseline and keep socks on her feet every night. And make sure she gets plenty of fluids.

party-of-six replied: I use aquaphor on my heels. It has helped with the cracked skin and peeling skin.....amazing stuff.

Boys r us replied: Poor Little thing, She's so little to have cracked heels!

Sounds like some of the other ladies have given you some good ideas. If none of those clear it up, I would DEFINITELY take her to her pediatrician and maybe he can help discover why she is suffering with this and get her a prescription!

Good Luck!

maestra replied: I use Kerasal on mine and it works really well- I have a lot of trouble with this because I like to wear Birkenstock's a lot and they really dry out my heels. Plus the Arizona climate doesn't help.

Mommy2BAK replied: dunno.gif I am not really sure. But I wanted to offer some support. I hope she starts to feel better and hopefully one of the suggestions will help. Good Luck!

CCTandME replied: Zim's crack cream or Bag of balm put on at night w/ socks on.
