Help - Scared and frightened

Guest_Sarrie wrote: Hi, I have not posted for a couple of weeks - but I need some advice and help. I am (supposed to be) 8wks pg today - but last wednedsay (7 weeks) I had a scan and the obs saw the embryo, yolk sac and placenta - but no fetal pole - he siad it measuresd at 5w2d - told me to come back on Thurs 4th Sept. WSince then I have been worrying myself silly. I had sex on 23rd and 26 th, I should have o'd about then - but the date the obs gave me would have meant I concieved a week later - and got a positive pg test 6 days later - which does not sound possible to me. My pg symptoms (Sore boobs & tirednedd) went about a week 1/2 before my scan whn I would have been about 5.5 weeks and so I am scared the embryo stopped growing. I have not had any spotting, and the ob said the scan was "normal" for 5.2. What do you think?

MommyToAshley replied: I'm not sure what to think, I just wanted to offer you hugs and support. It must be really stressful not knowing what is going on... please keep us posted on how you are doing and let us know how it goes Thursday.

MomToMany replied: I'm not sure what to think, either. When I went for my scan at 6 weeks, they couldn't see much of anything. I went a week later, and they saw everything just fine. Maybe it's just too soon to see everything clearly.

I want to give you lots of hugs & positive thoughts; I hope everything goes well on Thursday. I'll be thinking of you!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: This happened to me! When I had bloodwork done in the ER the ER doc was a little concerned because my levels were not where they were supposed to be! They ordered an ultrasound and through the ultrasound the fetus measured smaller than what I had been told by my GP. I was given 5 different due dates and 3 ultrasounds and everything was fine! According to my orignal due date DD was born a week late, according to the ultrasound she was born 3 weeks early!

I wouldn't worry! I'm sure everything is just fine!

mckayleesmom replied: I wouldn't worry. Try to relax and stay positive. Don't believe all those ultra sound techs either. If the ultra sound tech on my last ultra sound wouldn't have double checked her pics with another tech, I would have been trying to push Mckaylee out butt first. She told me Mckaylee was head down ready to go...another tech corrected her. That wasn't her head, it was her bladder. I would just get a second opinion done on it. I also didn't show with Mckaylee till I was 7 and a half months pregnant. I was constantly worried about why I wasn't showing.. Then bamn...I started showing, but only really got bigger right before I had her. Like they say, every baby grows and learns at their own rate.

jdkjd replied: Just try and be positive! The other scan was probably just too early to see anything.

Sending baby stay vibes~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mommieto2Girls replied: Try not to stress and relax. I know sperm can stay alive fo a couple of days or ea week(depends on how fertile DH is) but not sure exactly how long, so if you ovulated later than you think and a swimmer was still in there you could have gotten pregnant later than you think. Try to stay positive and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Everything is probley fine. Your probley not as far as you think you are. grouphug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:

I agree with that. Sometimes it takes the little babies a little longer to grow. It doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong. I also agree with the sperm living a few days. You never know. Try to relax, sweetie! We are here for you!

mckayleesmom replied: Exactly what Charlene said also.....sometimes it takes a while for them to find a nice place to inbed....so you might not be as far along.

CantWait replied: don't know what to think here either, same hugs to you grouphug.gif

supermom replied: I don't know what advice to give you either, but here is a great big grouphug.gif coming your way!!

Jill replied: I know your scared. We all have been there sweety, the two things I would suggest to do is calm down so you dont put stress on the baby because remember baby can feel everything you feel, try to telax as much as you can like do things to keep your mind off of this. The second thing is I agree also that if you dont feel like something is right on your next visit get a second opinion. You and your baby will be just fine! Lots of hugs hun! wub.gif

angelhair replied: it is from angel hair again, just wanted to make sure that you know that I and the other ladies and with you during this unsure time. please post tomorrow if you are up to it and keep us updated. I have been thinking a lot about you. dee

victoire2002 replied: You might be earlier than you think.

We had a difficult time dating my last pregnancy due to irregular cycles. When I went in for U/S, they saw a sac, but couldn't detect a heartbeat. Doc was worried it might be a molar pregnancy, so we decided to wait one week and do another ultrasound.

Well, the reason a heartbeat didn't show up was because I was only about 5 weeks along. When I went in the next week, they detected a heartbeat, no problem.
