Help!! Sad Baby!!! - Teething?

~CrazieMama~ wrote: My baby is so upset and sad. All she does is cry. bawling.gif I feel awful. I think she is teething, but not sure. I don't want to give her liquid pain-reliever all the time. If anyone has any ideas about quick relief I would really appreciate it, so would Brianna. sad.gif

MomToMany replied: Here's some hugs for you grouphug.gif! How many teeth does she have? She might be getting her molars in if she doesn't have them already. Have you tried letting her chew on a cold washcloth? Or a cool teething ring? If she's really miserable and doesn't stop crying, it might be wise to bring her into the Dr. for a check-up, just to make sure everything's OK. Make sure to give her extra hugs and cuddles, too! I hope some of this helps you!

More grouphug.gif to you!

MommyToAshley replied: Some feel better vibes coming your way! ~~~~~

I'm sorry and hope she is feeling better soon!

booey2 replied: Hi, the liquid stuff like Orejel or Anbesol is great, also try freezes or try freezing the yogurt that comes in the tubes and giving it to her both my boys used them. Also stick a wash cloth in the freezer that is damp so that it freezes and let her suck/chew on it. Hope this helps. Hugs to you both. grouphug.gif grouphug.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Aww..poor monkey..... maybe give her a freezie?

~CrazieMama~ replied: Thank you all for the replies. She is still miserable, but not as bad....yay!!!! But I feel so bad for her. It just breaks my heart. I will try the washcloth. She does not seem to like the teething ring too much. But I will keep trying. unsure.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I understand what you are going through, Ashley is teething again too. I just posted something about it. She is always a happy baby, but she has been crying all night... I feel so bad. I have tried everything this time around. She had a tough time with her first teeth as well.

~CrazieMama~ replied: Just to remind everyone, Brianna has no teeth. I don't think they are ever gonna come in. Does anyone know how long a Ped. will wait before they cut the gums? Is that what they still do? I don't know. Any replies would help. Thanks in advance.

sara294 replied: I use teething tablets, home made popsicles,or chamomille tincture.Right now my 15mo is getting in 4 molars, and the above helps quite well!

mckayleesmom replied: I use to give the little boy I babysat frozen waffles to knaw on,,he loved it. I also gave him those popsicles that look like they are linked like hot dogs, I don't know what they are called, but the plastic around them is similar to the plastic on Squeeze it juices, so its tough and just let her knaw on it...He seemed to like the frozen waffles though, I just put them in a ziplock back, maybe he liked it cause it was cold and chewy so it got to places where a hard object couldn't get.

Guest_jem0622 replied: She could have a rotovirus. Gabe had a high fever first and was miserable like that. Especially with the way that her eyes are. He had a high fever only and just miserable.

The other illness (he is getting over this now) is a high fever and a body rash to follow...which is in the cocksaxie virus family.

Motrin has worked the best for us in both of these situations. With the first occurence (no rash) it took almost 45 minutes for the fever to break.
