Help!

C&K*s Mommie wrote: Chris is going to shoot me when he gets home. blush.gif Kellie used a permanent marker to scribble on our computer screen, is there anything safe to use to get it off? It is a flat screen monitor, if that helps any. There are fingerprints and such from where they touch the screen which we discourage all the time, but they still do not realizing it. I have heard there is a cleaner to clean fingerprints from monitors, but this may be a different catergory. idontknow.gif

There is grey marker on the computer desk, but that can be painted over. I used the marker briefly, while I was on the computer earlier and I guess she got a hold of it, I think when they were up front here for a few minutes, and I was in the back studying she did this. dry.gif

unsure.gif Can anyone help with suggestions?? unsure.gif

luvbug00 replied: as mya would say.."OH SNAP!" Umm I'd get desperate and try a majic eraser or ummm Go nuts with cleansers... hope you get it out!!

NEWMOM05 replied: MY DH says use a magic eraser, 409 with a soft sponge. Also a goof off or other remover. He said another trick is to use a Dry Erase marker and go over the top of it, he then said you can wipe it off. HTH rolleyes.gif Let Me know. I called to ask him for you.

C&K*s Mommie replied: the magic erasers are safe for flat panel LCD monitors?

NEWMOM05 replied: My Dh says so as it is only glass in front of the actual screen. He says so and he wroks with computers and flat screens in his off.

C&K*s Mommie replied: oh that is GREAT!! thumb.gif Tell your hubby THANK YOU for me. thumb.gif I just threw out our last Magic Eraser a week ago, so hopefully I will be able to get to the store before Chris gets home tonight.

luvmykids replied: Oh boy, good luck with that one! ohmy.gif

ilovemybaby replied: Abby drew on our computer desk with permanent CD pen the other day. I used Jif but it won't come off.

What about nail polish remover? It should be ok.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I would think anything would be okay. I use everything on ours. unsure.gif I wish I lived close by I"d bring you an eraser and some goof off.

MommyToAshley replied: ohmy.gif OH MY!

Is it just a flat screen monitor or an LCD monitor.

A flat screen is like the old CRT monitors (the back is big like the old monitors) except the only difference is that the monitor is flat (doesn't bubble out).

An LCD is thin, like a laptop monitor.

If it is an LCD, I am afraid that almost anything you use would damage the screen. If it is flat screen and not an LCD, then you could probably use anything that you could use on glass without damaging it.

Nina J replied: Did you manage to get it off?

Crystalina replied: I don't have any suggestions for you. I have an LCD monitor and it's not glass so I just use a damp papertowel to clean it. You can tell an LCD because when you push on the screen (which you shouldn't do) it distorts the color a bit.

Let me know what you use because it's only a matter of time before this happens to me. I hate permanent markers. dry.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I haven't been able to get to the store, the girls got up late from a nap, and I had class, and now Kellie is sleeping. So I will be honest with Chris, he will see it anyways.

I will have to be extra gentle since it distorts the color when you press on it, the kids have tested this many times. As Aimee said.... KIDS! rolleyes.gif Gotta love 'em wub.gif
