Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet?
MommyToAshley wrote: It's really not that far away, but I haven't purchased anything yet. I am going to have a tough time coming up with something for Ashley... I had a hard time coming up with something for her birthday.
moped replied: Yep, about 95% done actually. I always start early because shopping in my favorite pasttime and I am darn good at it!
Just a couple things fo rhte kids and Tom but I already know what I am getting them so it is easy!
PrairieMom replied: I am listing in my head, but haven't bought anything yet. I plan on crafting some stuff, so I should probably get started.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I have a little done, but am going to get a lot of it done this weekend since I finally got almost everyone's list.
boyohboyohboy replied: I am done. we scaled way back this year..we just have an entire room full of toys that are rarely played with..
CantWait replied: I've started stocking stuffers, but I got my friend back home to buy a bunch of stuff for me and send it over.
coasterqueen replied: I've got ideas in my head - mainly for the girls at this point. I went ahead and took advantage of a sale and bought one of their big presents from Santa. We decided to REALLY limit our spending this year on everyone, including the kids. There is no reason in these times to go all out IMO. I'm just waiting for our "cookie jar" money to come in this weekend and I can really get started so I don't have to rush last minute.
jcc64 replied: No way, can't even go there yet. Corey's b-day was really easy, though, b/c we just got her a practice balance beam, which is still in our living room. She's on it 24/7, so I'd say it qualifies as a good purchase. Will probably follow up with a practice bar for Christmas. So what if my house looks like a gym...
ZandersMama replied: i've got the kids about half done. they are all i'm worrying about this year. everyone else can wait till they are finished.
BAC'sMom replied: I am working on making a list
luvmykids replied: Didn't we just have Christmas?
No, I haven't started. I'm waiting until I get my first paycheck, we decided whatever I earn between now and then is what we're spending. Since I'm a sub it's unpredictable, but I only get paid once a month so they should be semi-decent amounts. I was a little afraid to commit to that plan but even if I didn't work again before Christmas, what I'm getting on my first check would cover it if I plan really well.
mckayleesmom replied: Not one thing yet. I always plan to shop early, but it never happens and I actually enjoy the Christmas rush shopping.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Since school started, I've been purchasing gift cards from the places I'll likely shop. We get them thru the school and it defrays the cost of tuition. Kinda like a two birds with one stone deal. She just had a birthday last week so she gets her gifts all at once. Unfortunately, I'm at the other side of the spectrum. I have seriuosly got to pare down my prospective gifts. I've already had to shift the Wii to a family gift from Santa
MommytoKKC replied: Nope. I've starting thinking about possible ideas, of which I have few of, but that is it. We have to cut back this year, also, because it has been tough. And i really just want to get them things that they will actually use rather then junk that just sits around and I end up picking up.
bluebear replied: I have no idea what to get people... I want to get my little nephews something..well the 4 year old, the baby can't do anything now.
My mom said something about one of those cabbage flower plants. I was thinking of getting that, but don't those only last a couple of weeks? I'll probably end up getting her jewelery or something like that. Christmas shopping is hard!
msoulz replied: I pick up little things throughout the year so I have a few small, stocking-type things already. But nothing big. It's hard to buy anything too early because the little rascals often change their minds!
holley79 replied: All the grands are getting Annika's school picture for Christmas framed and matted. Shawn doesn't feel this is enough but you know I really don't care. It doesn't matter how much we spend it the thought and personal of it.
As for Shawn he wants a new flat screen TV for his "Man Cave"
Annika on the other hand. I HAVE NO CLUE!!! Not only do I have Christmas I have her birthday!!!
luvbug00 replied: oh lordy no! i can't afford much of anything..and now i have to get stuff for brads kids too. lol, so many kids so little time..
