HELP! Does anyone know what this looks like?

coasterqueen wrote: My sitter just called and said these bumps are appearing on Kylie's leg and they look VERY strange. Dh is going to take Kylie to the doctor today, but I'm freakin' out.

Earlier in the week she kept getting red blotches on her skin with white pimple like centers. They would appear, go away, reappear somewhere else, go away, etc. Well today just a few hours ago, Terri said now they are red blotches with a red blood blister looking center. ohmy.gif She said it was really concerning her. Kylie hasn't eaten anything different.

Do you think this is a reaction to a bug bite or what???? Anyone seen anything like this.

EDIT: the 3rd blotch down on her (this is her chest) was just forming when she took the picture and sent it to me.

coasterqueen replied: Here's the one that's on her leg. This is the first one that formed. It's the front of her leg near her diaper.

Kaitlin'smom replied: hummm not sure.....doing some searching....

jem0622 replied: I say it's either bed bugs (seriously) or heat rash.

MommyToAshley replied: I am not sure, I would probably get them looked at as well. Let us know what you find out. It's probably nothing serious but it is better to be safe.

amynicole21 replied: Doesn't look like heat rash to me... Sophia gets that all the time and there are never red dots in the center like that. I really don't know what that could be huh.gif Let us know what the doc says.

kimberley replied: poor Kylie! sad.gif could it be chicken pox? have you been to a mall or some other public place with her lately? i hope she okay. keep us updated! grouphug.gif

coasterqueen replied:
A friend of mine thought it was bed bugs too. I had no idea there was such a thing. I thought she was joking me. But she said bed bug bites are usually in a row???

coasterqueen replied:
Well, the sitter takes them to that giant hampster cage for kids every once in a while. rolleyes.gif I think she took them this week or last week, I'd have to look at her sitter sheets.

She has had the pox vax, but I know they can still get it. She doesn't have a fever or anything though.

This site has pictures of rashes/bites etc. Hopefully you will be able to find a match. I checked chickenpox and they dont' look like that.

Hugs.

Ava's Mom replied: It seems to be a bug bite because of the head on the bumps.- I hate to say this, but you might have bedbugs- Have you traveled recently? Or been around someone who has?
This is just a guess.

coasterqueen replied:
No we haven't traveled but my sitter did over the last weekend. UGH! Thanks!

A&A'smommy replied: poor baby! I hope it goes away soon!

Guest_kit_kats_mom replied: Let us know what the doc says. I'm curious too now that I've done all kinds of searching for rash and bug bite pictures on the web. Wierd. dry.gif

CantWait replied: I hope it goes away soon. Let us know what you find out.

Guest_boogabearzmom replied: The doc said it was just a viral infection and she will be fine. ????????????????????? Whatever!??? I knew I should have went with DH, that just sounds very weird.

The bizarre thing is at 11:40 pm tonight I heard her cry on the monitor so I went back to make sure she was ok. I get in her bedroom and I hear gargling & gagging. She was throwing up and it was going back in her mouth. sad.gif OMG, if I didn't go back there I don't know what would have happened. We got her cleaned up, got back to bed w/i minutes and she did it again but this time it was big clots of mucuous looking snot. sad.gif

I've called the telenurse to see if we should go to the emergency room. Those weird bumps came back w/i minutes of her throwing up. sad.gif Dh said it was just coincidence, but I'm not convinced. BTW, the bumps did go away earlier tonight.

dunno.gif I'm just so freaked out right now that if I didn't go in there, what would have happened. bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

Please say a prayer for Kylie. I have no idea what is going on with her. bawling.gif

paradisemommy replied: omg..that's really scary..big grouphug.gif grouphug.gif and p&pts to you and kylie..please keep us updated and let us know how she is doing!

i think if that was me i would have a hard time leaving her alone for just a minute..you're right..scary to think what could have happened had you not gone back there.. unsure.gif

MomToMany replied: grouphug.gif grouphug.gif grouphug.gif Oh Karen! How scary!! Poor Kylie! Good thing you went back and checked on her!

I think the Dr. is missing something. It looks like some sort of bug bite to me, not a virus! I think they just say "it's a virus" when they really mean "I don't know". We got a lot of that with Hannah when she was sick all the time. Then it's their excuse for not having to do anything more about it.

P&PT for Kylie!! I hope it goes away soon!!

amynicole21 replied: OMG, Karen!!!! ohmy.gif That is so scary!! Poor Kylie sad.gif Please let us know how she does today, and if the bumps/gagging come back. If they do, I'd take her back in.

ediep replied: oh my! Poor Kylie and mommy!!! I sure hope she is feeling better.

MommyToAshley replied: Oh goodness--- Poor Kylie! I hope she is feeling better soon. I am not sure I would be convinced either, did the Doc say to expect vomiting? Did the doc say anything to do?

grouphug.gif I hope she is feeling better soon!

jcc64 replied: Karen
Don't worry, really. Corey has the exact same thing right now, as do dh and I, and several other people on ds' baseball team. It is, as your dr said, just a virus. Mine has been accompanied by pretty severe head cold symptoms and a nasty, persistent cough. I had no appetite or energy over the w/e, dh and I took turns napping all day Sun. Corey has those things all over her body, and a few of them actually grew to the size of a quarter and looked a little infected? I watched them, and now they seem to be healing. I've learned from experience that they are so many weird skin things that kids get, particularly in the summer, and lots of times drs have no idea what they are, and they just go away on their own.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks Jeanne! It's nice to know that what she has is *normal*. I just hope all of our kids get over it quickly. wink.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: awwww poor Kylie grouphug.gif

I really hope she feels better soon and the rashes go away sad.gif I feel so sorry for kids when they get sick, and for the parents that have to look after them and worry.
