Frustrated!

MommyToAshley wrote: I have completely given up colas of any kind and replaced with water. That is around 600-800 calories a day for me ( blush.gif ) that I have replaced with water. I have been eating healthy snacks and meals, with the exception of my birthday cake and one night I gave into a craving. But, that's only two nights out of two weeks. It's got to be better than I was doing before. But, the scale hasn't moved... not even one pound! mad.gif The only thing I can think of is that I am sleep walking in the middle of the night and driving to McDonalds for a big juicy burger.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I am sorry, Dee Dee. Some weeks are better than others. Keep up the good work. Maybe you're replacing fat with muscle which weighs more. You've made good decisions and even if the scale didn't move, your body is healthier for it. Keep fighting the fight. hug.gif

booey2 replied: Hang in there Dee Dee, you body may just need some time to adjust to the changes you have implemented. Have you been using the nestea for all your water or just some? I found that when I drink more of the mixes and not straight water or herbal tea that I can be the same as you and not lose but even worse I can gain. Hang in there it will happen. hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Are you working out? If not, you might want to start with some light cardio. You know all about the AT and burning sugar, etc. Just make sure you stay below whatever your target heart rate is.

I know your frustration all too well. I just keep reminding myself that it takes longer to take it off than it does to put it on. That keeps me from stuffing my face. When the scale doesn't move after eating healthy I want to throw up my arms and say "What the heck...I'll just eat BAD if this is where my hardwork gets me." tongue.gif But I know that eating bad will only pack on the weight. At least the scale isn't going UP.

I also put my scale away for a month and that seemed to help. I wasn't obsessing over it everyday or even once a week. My weight tends to go up and down with my cycle and that is so frustrating.

Try taking your measurements instead. That is far more encouraging to me. wink.gif

Keep up the good work. I promise you your efforts will pay off. thumb.gif cheerleader.gif

CantWait replied: Good for you for giving up the cola Dee Dee. Hang in there you'll notice a difference soon. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: are you exercising? It sounds like your metabolism needs a boost, if your already exercising just try adding something like a herbal something that is suppose to boost it, I have something called metabolife or you can use this stuff called hoodia they really do work, they have for me and another girl I know used hoodia and she lost like 50lbs and she says all she did was eat right she didn't even exercise. Anyway I hope you start to get the results that you want soon!! hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Thanks everyone. hug.gif

I have been busy with work, volunteering at Ashley's school, and getting things ready for vacation. I am going to need a vacation from this vacation! So, I haven't gotten back in the gym and I know that is the largest part of my problem. While I have been active, I really need to hit the gym.

It seems like if I make dinner at home and eat right, then there's no time for the gym. If I go to the gym, I usually pick up something quick for dinner. So, I either eat healthy or get excercise... I need to do both at the same time, not one or the other. happy.gif

Terri, I have been drinking water alone and with the Lipton tea packets. I tend to drink more with the tea packets. So... did you have to wait until AFTER I was hooked on them to tell me that they don't help... LOL, just kidding!1 Why do you think that is? They have zero calories and zero fat. I can't find anything on how much caffiene is in the tea... I wonder if that is the culprit? I have started using 1/2 packet and see if that helps. Anyways, it has to be better than cola.

Kaitlin'smom replied: How long has it been sinc eyou totaly gave up regular pop? it took me a couple weeks after switching from reg to diet to see the first loss. Just keep it up you will see something soon.

booey2 replied: Sorry Dee Dee, they do help you cut back on the cola's you just can't replace you entire daily intake of water with them, you do need some plain water. hug.gif I still use them every now and then. Hang in there girl you will do it. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
Yes, I am guilty of not drinking enough plain water. THe nestea packets are yummy, but I do understand moderation is the key.

MommyToAshley replied:
A few weeks ago, I went down to one cola a day. It's been about 1-1/2 weeks since I went to zero colas.

cameragirl21 replied: Dee Dee, are your clothes fitting any looser? sometimes it's not the scale so much as inches that you are losing.
congrats on giving up soda, it's not just the calories--the carbonation in it bonds with the calcium in your bones and can lead to osteoporosis when you get older.
i suggest trying to get used to real water, it goes a long way to fill you up and hydrate you. maybe add some melon and cucumber for some flavor, or a lemon or lime wedge.
