Flouride rinse for babies?

MommyToAshley wrote: I have been using just plain water & a clean cloth on Ashley's teeth, but I remember at the last appointment, the Ped also mentioned I could use a flouride rinse made for babies. Is anyone doing this? If so, what brand do you use and does the bottle/tube have an age recommendation?

amynicole21 replied: Our water has flouride added, so I haven't done anything about that. Come to think of it, I am REALLY bad about cleaning Sophia's teeth. I have to start doing that more unsure.gif

ediep replied: my ped gave us flouride drops to give Jason daily because our water doesn't have it added.
I brush Jasons teeth with a baby toothbrush and water biggrin.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
Our water has flouride added too so my Ped didn't give the flouride drops either. She just said to clean her teeth with a clean cloth and water or I could use the flouride rinse made especially for babies. I was just wondering if anyone uses the flouride rinse

Edie, How does Jason do with a toothbrush? I might get Ashley one. I wonder if she will try to eat it...LOL

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
Jade likes to chew on her toothbrush. It's one of her fav. toys. She likes to chew on the brush end so I figure she must be getting her teeth clean by doing this.

ediep replied:
Jason is so cute with the toothbrush. Every morning and night I take the toothbrush from the holder and runit under water and he opens his mouth for me to brush his teeth. It is sooo cute! biggrin.gif

Guest replied: my ped. gave me a perscription for sodium flouride drops. he also told me to start brushing his teeth. And this was at his 6 month checkup! I had started giving him the drops, but then forgot about them. Now I brush his teeth and give him the drops. I use just a tiny bit of toothpaste. He usually spits it out anyway. biggrin.gif

Guest_jem0622 replied: You can go to wal-mart or wherever. They make a rinse..I think the brand is ACT. They have a flouride rinse 4 kids that is bubble gum flavored. Probably ur best bet.

MomofTay&Sam replied: laugh.gif Well I am really brave. LOL I use the finger toothbrush. Goes over you finger. It's pretty tough though and I have not got bitten. Sammy loves it too. smile.gif

sara294 replied: I use flouride paste on/off with the kids. When younger I used weleda childrens paste and/or used a herbal mix/guaze pad to clean the teeth. I still use the herbs, and soak the brushes in GSE.

Mommieto2Girls replied: I just got Maddie the infant finger brush with the toothpaste that has no flouride in it si it's safe to swallow, in banana apple flavor and she loves it. All she does is lick it. yummy.gif
