Maddie&EthansMom wrote: Maddie started school today. She was pretty nervous. We all walked her in. I did take pics, but I haven't downloaded them yet.
It's just a half day so I will pick her up at 11:30. I can't wait to hear how her first day went.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: She had a good day today. After we got home she told me she had to go see the principal b/c she had a tummy ache. (they don't have a school nurse yet) And she said they gave her some yucky medicine. That's fine, but they didn't call me or send a note home to tell me. I'm not real happy about that. I'm pretty easy going and I trust them, but you give my child medicine, I want to know about it!
msoulz replied: Wow, our school can't give anything more than a bandaid without a doctor's note. I needed to have a doctor sign to give my son Tylenol when he has a headache!
We don't start until after the holiday weekend (new law in Michigan). My big guy starts second grade with the same teacher as first grade, and he is very excited about that!
Kaitlin'smom replied: they gave her medicine without you knowing? I woudl be peeved and be talking to them. How do they know she is not allergic?
other wise I am glad she had a good day
Maddie&EthansMom replied: They know she isn't allergic b/c we fill out an allergy form, but the more I think about this the more I'm seething. It was Children's Immodium, which is pretty much harmless. I'm still trying to get her to tell me she's lying about it. I just can't believe it!!! She's definitely telling the truth, though. She said "They told me to tell you that I had to see Mrs Brewster today and they had to give me medicine for my tummy ache." I said "They didn't call me??" She said "No, they said 'Be sure and tell your mom.'" She said the medicine helped her tummy. But, they didn't even send a NOTE HOME!!!
