Favorit Pizza

MommyToAshley wrote: Ours is Marions. We used to go there all the time when I was PG. MMMMMM...making me hungry thinking about it!

Jacqueline_n_Alyssas_Mom replied: tongue.gif I would have to say the local Pizza dive, We have no other unless you drive +20 miles in any direction to get to a franchise pizzeria~ It would be cold by the time you get it home!

supermom replied: I said other because one of the local convenience stores makes the BEST bacon cheeseburger pizza ever!! And the rest of them they make aren't bad either.

A lot of those you've got listed we don't even have around this neck of the woods, they must be local franchises like our Eureka Pizza is - in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas is all I think, but still a franchise!

We actually have 6 pizza places (only 20,000 ppl here) because of the college, I think - giggle

MomofTay&Sam replied: tongue.gif I choose other OFCOURSE...LOL NY has the best pizza around every corner. We have a few favorite joints but all in all any deli/pizza place you walk into is yummy!

MommyToAshley replied: I thought Donatos, Pizza Hut, Cassanos, and Dominos was National. And East Chicago is at least all over the Mid West. But, I could be wrong.

MomofTay&Sam replied: tongue.gif Pizza hut??? (just poking fun)

My favorite pizza place of all time is CiCi's pizza in my homeland off TX.. smile.gif

supermom replied: Dominoes and Pizza Hut (two of them) we've got - but not Donatos or Cassanos, either one. We also have Mazzio's, Eureka, and Horton's (the one I like so well). They also have a CiCi's in Joplin, Missouri (about 45 mins from here, bigger town - LOTS of local pizza places!)

Oh, I forgot - East Chicago must be in the upper- midwest, cuz we're in about as midwest as you can get and there's none of those around here either. Maybe in Kansas City - how about it Malik's Mom?

jdkjd replied: I love Pizza Slut but two local dives here (Barnabys uses a beer based pizza crust-very non greasy, and MoMo's which New York style) are seriously yummy.

ediep replied: I have never heared of any of those excpet pizza hut and dominos. I used to love pizza hut when I was a kid, but our local place is really good. That is where we order from

MomToMany replied: Well, I'd have to say other. My favorite pizza is my homemade chicken alfredo pizza. It's SOO yummy.gif !!! The local place is not that great, really greasy. And we're an hour's drive away from the big chain places. And I enjoy cooking, so it's really fun to make with the kids.

Kaitlin'smom replied: Too hard to pick I love pizza!

Oh and cassanos is local in this part of Ohio, I went to school with the grandson and he marrried one of my friends! They just had a little girl Carlee Sophia born in January, not sure of the date though

supermom replied:
OH, that sounds so yummy!!!!

Can you post the recipe in the recipe forum?? <please??>

Mommieto2Girls replied: I went with a local delivery, but it's 1 1/2 hours away. They are called Sassano's Pizzeria in Fort Lauderdale. They have great pizza. tongue.gif

Schnoogly replied: OK I don't even recognize most of those places! I only know of dominos (yuck, plus I disagree with their politics) and pizza hut (also yuck) and Uno's. We don't have an uno's anywhere that I can think of...

I also like papa john's. Do y'all have that? I think it's nationwide. But we usually order from a local place.

Steph

Schnoogly replied:
Yes, we love making pizza too! It's really sickeningly easy if you have a bread machine. You can just make the dough (you can even set the timer on it so it's ready when you get home or whatever) and then just load it up with whatever you want. When we were vegetarians we did this a lot because it's hard to find places that make good veggie pizzas that don't have PEPPERS on them (YUCK!!!!!!) We did spinach, broccoli, zucchini, soy pepperoni, goat cheese, all kinds of good stuff.

Steph

supermom replied:
Can you post yours too - we've had a heck of a time finding a pizza dough we like that's easy to make - we usually resort to canned biscuit dough (like mini-pizza's) or the like - and we don't care that much for any of it, which is why we don't usually make our own pizza.....

And yes, we've also got Papa John's - aren't they the place with the awesome Chicken Alfredo pizza? Or is that someplace else.......but they are in that town 45 mins away, and if we go there to have pizza we usually do a local place that serves a bunch of different kinds of imported beer (DH will NOT do any American beer - giggle - I won't post what he says about it - giggle)

Schnoogly replied: Sure. Just take about a half cup of warm water and dissolve a package of yeast in it. Add enough flour so that it is nice and plump and a little sticky. This is about 1.5 cups? Not sure, don't really measure. Add about a tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt. That's it! Knead for about 5-10 minutes, not so long as you would bread dough. You want it to stay a little sticky. Then let it rise for an hour to an hour and a half depending on how warm it is in your kitchen. Then either roll it out or mush it into a circle or whatever shape you want. You could toss it if you're talented but I'm not :0 Add toppings. Cook in 425 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Yes papa johns sometimes has the chicken alfredo pizza. Yum Yum! No dairy for me now though sad.gif but we make pizza with soy cheese and it's OK. We have also ordered cheeseless pizzas lately. Probably better for us anyway smile.gif

Steph

Edited to add that I'm a beer snob too! I lived in Portland OR for 5 years and the northwest is famous for microbrews. I miss them! You can get some here now but not my favorite one--they don't sell it out of state. I will live with mexican (pacifico) in a pinch, but I usually drink Bass ale. Bud is pee.

Schnoogly replied: Also forgot to say that those pizza stones you can get in department stores like bed bath & beyond or target are really worth it! They make great pizza, and aren't too expensive. The only thing is it is kinda hard to get the pizza in and out of the oven. Some of them come with pizza peels (wooden shovel like things with a long handle) to put the pizza in the oven. We just leave our stone in the oven all the time. Great for cooking baked potatos on too--makes them all crispy smile.gif

Steph

CantWait replied: My favourite is Pizza Hut, however my least favourite is any in New Brunswick.....they just can't make pizza. The best pizza I ever had was in Washington DC at a food court in a mall. It was so greasy and cheesey.
Yummmmmmm yummy.gif
