Evening Primrose Oil - Cameragirl or anyone who knows something

My2Beauties wrote: Cameragirl had suggested I give the girls a drop or two of Evening Primrose Oil daily orally and it will help naturally clear their eczema. I've been doing research on it and have found that it is supposed to help clear up eczema. Other websites also say it should be taken orally. OK I'm only finding it in pill form. Do you guys think it would hurt if I put the contents of the pill in milk? Would it make their milk taste funny? I was thinking it was a liquid. Anyone know of it in liquid form, where would I purchase it?

Edited for spelling

grapfruit replied: Is this what you're looking for?

Liquid Evening Primrose oil

My2Beauties replied:
Yes I wonder if they sell it locally anywhere like any drugstores or supermarkets? Has anyone seen Liquid Primrose Oil in any places like this?

Jamison'smama replied: Are the pills just little capsules full of the oil? That's what we use. I just prick the capsule with a pin and squirt it into Jack's juice when he has a flare up. It can change the taste so I put in just a couple of drops two times a day.

cameragirl21 replied: no, you won't taste it in milk (unless you use too much) and yes, give it to them orally, topically won't do a thing.
the capsules will work but the liquid is more potent, you have to keep it in the fridge.
Give Hanna about 3-5 drops and Aubrey about 2-3 drops and it will clear right up within 2 weeks or less. It won't harm them and you don't need much, give it to them once a day and stay consistent. They won't even notice that you added anything to their milk, just make sure they drink it all.
I get mine at a health food store, you can also get it at the vitamin shoppe or whole foods.

grapfruit replied: Jennifer, will this help acne too??

cameragirl21 replied:
not really. You will get softer, nicer skin but it doesn't make a huge dent in acne. For acne, try some TOPICAL tea tree oil (do NOT swallow it or drink it) or lavender oil (again, do NOT ingest it) twice a day and you will see results. Also take some honey and make a mask with it on your face to reduce acne inflammation.

grapfruit replied:
I might try the tea oil. I'm steering clear of the lavendar though! Lavendar baby lotion made me break out in a full body itch mading rash. laugh.gif NEVER again! LoL

My2Beauties replied: thumb.gif You guys rock I'm gonna look for some this week.

PrairieMom replied:
I have to agree on this, I found some stridex type wipes with tee tree oil and have been using them twice a day for about a month, and the honey mask here and there, and can really tell a difference. I wouldn't say i have clear skin by any means, but it is really improved.

momofone replied: i use the epo for pms with good results - maybe whole foods may sell it. for little ones probably just one drop will do.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I take 3 EPO capsules a day for acne and to help regulate hormones. I have noticed my skin to be much clearer, softer. I have never tried giving it to the kids. Like someone else said, just prick one of the capsules and squeeze out the oil. I highly doubt it has a taste. Tea tree oil is a natural astringent, which is why it's good for acne and cuts. My DH puts it on his toes, for athletes foot and it helps clear it up. It comes in a dropper bottle, sold at any health food store. It's also found in some soaps products, but the actual oil is more potent.
