Don't hate me because

cameragirl21 wrote: it was so warm here that this light, spring sweater that I brought to the photoshoot was making the little girl too hot, lol. This is actually my sweater, I mean, not mine to wear but mine that I bring sometimes to photoshoots because I love the way it photographs.
This is a big picture share, I didn't even realize it but I did just realize that I haven't shared here in a while so I thought I'd go for the gusto. No, she is not a model, in fact, this is her first time sitting for a photographer unless you count Sears, Walmart, etc. She's just been "Jenniferized" as I call it and now she insists she wants to be a model, lol. laugh.gif

lisar replied: great photos. You did an awesome job.

msoulz replied: She is beautiful! I can see why she wants to model now that she has seen herself this way. wub.gif

And I don't hate you for not being able to wear a sweater comfortably, but I certainly am a bit jealous! It's 21 degrees here right now . . .

CantWait replied: I'm not jealous yet Jennifer, still pretty nice here, only -6c. As for the little girl and the pictures, gorgeous. She'll make a beautiful model.

Danalana replied: Very nice! I thought her mother was Angelina Jolie, at first emlaugh.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
ha ha... it's NEGATIVE 21 here this morning... well -27 with the windchill...

(that's about -16 for you guys.)

cameragirl21 replied: Thanks, for the nice comments, everyone. That little girl was actually pretty hard to work with, she kept giving me cheesy smiles or making faces and I was pleasantly surpised when I saw the results. She really is a beauty though, especially when her teeth finish growing in, she's at an awkward stage right now as far as that goes.
She was also afraid of spider webs, which we ran into quite a bit...I hate to tell you how many spiders I rendered homeless yesterday just to get her to relax. laugh.gif What cracks me up is that usually kids don't enjoy the photoshoots but afterward they tell their parents it was fun. Then after they see the pictures they suddenly remember that it was just SO fun, lol.
Btw, Lisar, I will still be coming to Jax to take your kids' pictures, let's plan on Feb/March when it warms up a bit...I was thinking of taking that same sweater for Lexi as I think it would go great with her killer blue eyes.
And yeah, it doesn't get too cold here, it is exactly 66 degrees here now and to us it feels nippy.

Calimama replied: She and her mom are both gorgeous!!!

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: those are awesome pics !!!!!!!!!!!!

Look good.

MommyToAshley replied: The little girl is beautiful and so is her Mom.

However, I hope you don't mind me giving an honest opinion, but I don't care for the sweater for the photo shoot. I think it draws your attention away from the girl and to the sweater -- which would be fine if it were an ad for the sweater. But, for a portrait shoot, I like solid colors. But, please don't take it as an insult, it's just a personal prefernce about the sweater itself. You still did a great job with the photos! I love the outdoor shots you do.

cameragirl21 replied: Thanks, everyone, and Dee Dee, don't ever be afraid to give honest opinions if you don't like something and that goes for everyone else too, of course. I am not posting pics here so everyone can blow sunshine up my you know what, I'm curious to get honest opinions. I show my pics to photographers all the time and they give me their opinions and critiques but in the grand scheme of things, my end consumer is you...not you specifically but you as in moms, parents, anyone who has children in their care. And I want to know what people honestly think and do and don't like.
Btw, Dee Dee, it's funny you should say that...I'm a huge fan of the photography of Baby Gap and Gap Kids, I go in there all the time just to look at their pictures and admire them and often think I'd like to take pics like that, although theirs are mostly studio shots. Anyway, it's gotten to where everyone who works at the local Baby and Kids' Gaps knows me by now and when I approach they're all like, "Hey, Jennifer, we have new pictures up, come see!" LOL, it always amuses me a bit. Anyway, I got that sweater at Gap Kids at the winter/spring clearance earlier this year, so I guess by your comments perhaps I'm emulating Gap photography more than I realized, lol. I agree solid colors are usually preferred but what's in vogue now is bright colors, usually in the form of hats and sweaters but here in Miami we have a very short season in which anyone can wear those unless you do it in studio and crank up the AC to 60 degrees or so. I have a huge bright color addiction, I'm a rare photog who prefers color to black and white pics, as long as the colors are bright and the pics are done well. So I was drawn to that sweater because it incorporates so many bright colors. But it's interesting you should say that because when parents ask me what kids should wear, I always suggest solid, non busy patterns, so I guess I'm breaking my own advice, lol.
