Do your kids...........
Farelle wrote: Talk ALL day long!?!?! Would I be a bad Mommy to use ear plugs?? I swear than my son talks non-stop from the time he gets up until the time he falls asleep. Most of what he talks about is ok, but when he gets into his "negative" moods or does the baby talk...it makes me bonkers. Somedays I wish he had an off button
DillsMommy replied: Oh yes, I know how that is! And it's not just talking all day, but lots and lots of questions all day. I know thats how they learn, but I never thought someone could ask "why" so much.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke is in that phase too....we went to the grocery store just the 2 of us today and I swear, she talked nonstop from the time we got it the car until we got home! 2 strangers in the grocery store commented that she must be exhausting - they have no idea.
Mommyof3 replied: I have one like that too. When we're hanging out as a family, she plays with her brother or reads or gets into something herself. When we're alone at the store, she's a chatterbox!
gr33n3y3z replied: I use to call my son Rick Jabber Jaws
coasterqueen replied: Ugh, that is so my Kylie bear.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I normaly dont mind the chatter except when I am driving she can drive me crazy, when I have had a long day, and just want a peacefull drive is when she seems to chat the most.
MommyToAshley replied: OMG... Ashley has talked non-stop since she said her first word at about 5 months old. She talks during meals, she talks in the car, she talks to through the door when I am in the shower, she talks to herself when she's playing, she talks on the phone to her friends, she even talks in her sleep!
I thought that I was the only one that wished for an "off" button. I remember being in the car, thinking to myself that I wish I could have just a minute or two of silence. Then out of nowhere, Ashley says "Mommy I love you. You are the best Mommy in the world!" ... talk about feeling guilty.
Crystalina replied: Izabella is like that. She never stops!! I push her nose (that is her 'Off' button ). I also tell them to put their bubbles in. They puff out their cheeks and 'hold their bubbles'. It works great. I just had to show Evan that he can breath through his nose while doing it because the poor kid was holding his breath in the begining. Boys...they are a bit slower.
I only use the "Nine...Ten...Bubbles In!" when they are interupting adults. Izabella does that alot.
moped replied: Oh yes, non-stop all day long!
Farelle replied: Phew....then I'm not the only one with a chatter-box! Those ear plugs are looking pretty good to me. Thankfully we're not into the "why?" talking yet. My DH and I laugh all the time bc Andrew narrates everything he does and we do. For instance, "I'm holding my bear Mommy" (yep, I can see that ) or "Daddy's pouring his bubbly water (aka soda)" AHHHhhhhh!! Sometimes it is funny but sometimes we really don't need to be told what we're doing. Too bad a 3-year old can't work, he'd make a phenomnal sports announcer!!
Twelve Volt Man replied: Not yet, but my son is only 5 weeks old. I'll be well-prepared, though, because my wife talks incessantly.
Cece00 replied: I have 4 kids, 3 of whom speak, and 2 of whom speak just about ALL DAY...what do you think???
Sometimes, when they just wont quiet down in the car, I ask if we can play the quiet game, or if we can have a few minutes of quiet time...or I put on a DVD
Boo&BugsMom replied: Baby talk Tanner gets in trouble for. As for talking A LOT...we do a lot of "smiling and nodding" in our house! "uh huh...yep...".
Calimama replied: That's going to be us.
lovemy2 replied: I used to tell Olivia to put her thumb in her mouth so she would be quiet for a few minutes Bad Mommy to encourage the thumb sucking but it worked
Maddie&EthansMom replied: This is Maddie, too. Complete with the "I love you Mommy"
When Maddie is being a jabber jaws I just say "Madeleine!" and she looks at me and says "what?" Like she knows she's pushed it too far. What drives me nuts is when several people are talking (or DH and I are having a convo), the tv is going and she tries to talk over everything. I'm ADD...that doesn't jive well with me.
BAC'sMom replied: Yes all my kids get like that from time to time.
My Mom calls it diarrhea of the mouth.
Farelle replied: All too funny! I know where he gets it from and now I know what my Mom went through! I know when he gets to school I'll be getting lots of phone calls, just like she did - LOL
