Do you think this is a good wedding menu?

My2Beauties wrote: OK we're having:

Shaved ham
Possibly Shaved Turkey

(with those little rolls so you can make sandwiches out of them)

Potato Salad
Pasta Salad
Baked Beans
Cole Slaw (Maybe)
Veggie Tray
Fruit Tray
Cheese Tray
Relish Tray
Chips and Pretzels
Meatballs
Those little weenies in BBQ sauce

I think that's it, I don't think I missed anything! Does that sound ok to you guys?

lisar replied: Sounds fine to me. I would go with turkey and the ham though. Some people dont like ham. So I would go with both. Other than that it should be good.

Lisa

moped replied: Sounds delish

Sit down or buffet?

gr33n3y3z replied: Sounds good also
But maybe add a meatless dish for those who dont eat meat

JessC replied: That sounds like a good menu! Yeah definitly do ham and turkey together! thumb.gif

My2Beauties replied:
More buffet style I guess, eat as much as you want ya know! Eat whenever you want, as long as I get to go first laugh.gif

JAYMESMOM replied: Sounds great but I would definitely do both ham and turkey.

Buffet is always nice so people can eat at their own pace and as much as they want.

Boys r us replied: thumb.gif Sounds good!!!!!! I BTW I my invite never did show up in the mail! unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied: sounds yummy to me!! thumb.gif

Alice replied: Although I never eat it.... wedding cake too, right?

amymom replied: great menu!!

(What time should I be there? rolling_smile.gif )

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: How about substituting a big green salad in there, or fruit, or some other type of veggie salad like green beans or sliced tomatos with mozarella and basil, instead of the potato or cole slaw? Too much mayo type salads IMO. I'm a greens gal! Rolls are a must with the meats. Don't forget a hot mustard with the ham. smile.gif

uwishucudfly replied: ok, now I am really hungry.......

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Here I am again...bare with me, I'm an events person. I would knock out the chips and pretzels, again too much starch with potatos, pasta and rolls. Again JMO. I don't know your family, but more veggies seem like a good idea. I'm an artistic one too when it comes to food, so instead of all white colors or browns, add in greens, yellow, and reds just to mix it up. Maybe a greek salad with cucumber and tomato with feta cheese. Maybe throw in more colored peppers with the pasta salad. Caesar salad is an easy one too and most people love it! Or a three bean salad.

Sorry...I'm such a friggin food snob! I don't mean to come off that way...these are ONLY suggestions. Just part of what I used to do for a living... rolling_smile.gif I get really pumped when it comes to cookin! biggrin.gif

Oh here's another one, do the potato salad but use the small red ones and keep the skins on. Add celery. Yum.

ions_momma replied: Sounds like a good menu to me! I would definatly do both turkey and ham because some people might not like ham and then they would have another option.

MM'sMama replied: Yummy yummy.gif sounds good.

coasterqueen replied:
I tend to agree with your thoughts wink.gif. Part of my job is picking out food for receptions/dinners and those would be my thoughts as well as adding in something for vegetarians....a vegetarian main dish besides the sides you already have.

Sounds all yummy though!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Mmm now I'm hungry! tongue.gif It sounds good to me - maybe a lettuce salad instead of either the potato or pasta salad would be nice. I think with all the salads and veggies and fruit and baked beans you have plenty of options for vegetarians. And definitely I'd go with both turkey and ham. thumb.gif
Now you have me all excited for the 2 weddings we have to go to this summer ~ excited for the food!!! tongue.gif yummy.gif
