Did your...?
TeagansMom609 wrote: Im just wondering if your babies slept in your room or in their own. Teagan slept in our room because we only had a one bedroom apartment at the time. This time we have 3 bedrooms so the baby has his own room but im really nervous about having him in his own room rather then right next to my bed. Am I just being a spaz???
coasterqueen replied: Both mine slept with me. Megan just now, 2 weeks ago started sleeping in her own room all by herself. We co-sleep and breastfeed so it works for us.
CAMSMOM1 replied: Cameron slept in the same room with us, not in our bed though. We had a bassinet beside our bed. I didn't want him to get used to sleeping in the same bed with us, because I have had friends that did and they never got them out until they were toddlers or older. So once he was 2 months old, and out grew the bassinet, we put him in his room. It wasn't as hard of a transition as I thought it would. It was acutally a pretty smooth transition. But of course I had a baby monitor in his room, so I felt more peace of mind to hear him sleeping and know when he was crying. It was nice having him in the same room as a newborn because I was breastfeeding and it was convientant. I also was a worry wort, and wanted him near to me to make sure he was breathing and sleeping fine. I think having them in the same room is a great thing for newborns...but JMO..I wouldn't put him in the same bed.....unless you want to make a habit of it. A bassinet or co-sleeper next to the bed is the best solution.

shelbysmom replied: Shelby slept in her own bedroom from day one, but her bedroom is right across from ours. I felt very comfortable with it, I could hear every little peep!
luvbug00 replied: Mya slept with me until she was 4. I didn't breastfeed but we liked it that way.
aspenblue1 replied: Isabella and Kyrsten both slept in a bassinet next to our bed.
huggybugboy replied: We planned on having Miles sleep in our room. But around 1 month, he was not sleeping well (and so neither were we). He sleeps like his dad So we tried putting him in his crib and he slept almost all night So he sleeps in his own room all the time now, hardly ever coming into bed with us (cept when hes sick ). I think it all depends on how your baby is. Mine just didnt sleep well with us in the room.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Katy slept in our room until 5 weeks then she moved to her own. I was up all night with every sound she made so I was miserable when she was 2 feet from me. Matt stayed with us until about 6 or 7 weeks because he was a really quiet sleeper. The next one will be with us for a while also. My room now is about 2.5 times the size of my last room so (s)he will be farther away so I should be able to sleep a little better.
ediep replied: Jay slept in our room in a bassinette for about 7 weeks. We all slept better when he went to hisown room. He was a noisy sleeper and I was up whenever he made a noise
CantWait replied: Robbie and Anthony slept in the same room, and most of the time the same bad as myself, I say myself because dh was gone a lot so it was easy for it just to do done this way.
Our Lil' Family replied: Thomas slept in his bed since day one as well. I had a cradle but never used it. I also had a monitor but never needed it....once I became a Mommy I gained the mother's intuition and woke up right before he started crying...still do to this day usually.
msoulz replied: My first and now my baby sleep in their own room, but I sleep in there too. We have a crib and a bed in there. She slept with me in the bed for the first 5 weeks or so then I started putting her in her crib and she sleeps very well in there. It works great as she is sleeping independently but I'm right there for her, especially since we are breastfeeding!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Jade slept with me until 7 weeks old and then I put her in her own room. She just wasn't a good sleeper and we got more sleep that way. Jordan is still sleeping with me, but I hope to get her in the crib soon. DH is sleeping on the couch because he's a restless sleeper and would probably rool right on top of her.
5littleladies replied: We've always had the girls in our room for awhile at first. They sleep in the bassinett right next to the bed. I have a bed set up for Lissie in the room she is going to share with Brianna, but I'm just not ready to make the transition yet so she's still in there with us at 3 months.
A&A'smommy replied: Definitly NOT I think I would let my newborn sleep in my room first and then let him sleep in his own room when i was comfortable with the thought (but knowing me it would be two years or so )
camneely8 replied: First kid slept with us until about 11 months and then moved to his own room. The second one is sleeping in our room for now and will probably move out at the same time..11 months or so.
mom2tripp replied: Tripp slept in our room in his basinet and with us until he was about 5 months old, it worked for us bc I nursed him and some nights he would just nurse and sleep off and on ALL night long!!!!
1moremakes4 replied: My first daughter was a tiny baby and she slept in a bassinet in our room until she was about 4 or 5 months old. When we finally moved her to a crib, she was in her own room - and I had the baby monitor turned up as high as it would go! Now we are in a different home with only 2 bdrms, so our 2nd is in a crib in our room. I plan on the girls sharing a room eventually or moving her to her own room if we get a bigger house.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Logan has slept in his own room across the hall from us since we brought him home. We set up the bassinet in the den so he could sleep in it during the day and still be close.
kimberley replied: coslept for convenience of middle of the night nursing and my anxiety lol . i am a very light sleeper and am completely aware of baby and comfortable with her next to me. i cant sleep well if shes not.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Andrew slept in a bassinet next to our bed - half the time he'd end up in bed with me for the last 3 hours because I was too lazy to put him back in bed after I fed him. We moved him to a crib in his own room when he wsa 4 months old.
paradisemommy replied: i have both my babies with me..skyler is in our room in a crib and taven usually sleeps with me in the bed (when dh is working since he works 24+ hrs)..when dh is home, taven will fall asleep in our room but dh will move him to his room and sleep with him in there..he has a bunkbed with a full futon on the bottom..i've always had taven in the bed with me but don't want skyler to get used to it cause taven is such a wild sleeper, i'm afraid he'll kick her or hurt her by accident..
i'm too much of a worry wart to have them away from me..i'd be in and out of their rooms every 5 minutes all night long...
fashionmumofboys replied: My boths slept in our room in a bassinet until they were about 3 months old and then I put them into their own room. That was hard, but they out grew their bassinet.
Good luck with your decision.
ammommy replied: Well, for the first couple months of his life, Alec would only sleep on my chest. Megan from day 6 or so would only sleep in her crib. So the answer is both
Hillbilly Housewife replied: All 3 kids slept on our chests from day 1... and occasionally in their car seat. Although we've always had a crib and a bassinette... they didn't use them for long.
My oldest was a couple months old when he got put in his crib in his room... i was working, so around 3 months i think, i don't remember. But he was in a matress on the floor around his first birthday, we'd wanted him to get used to it before his sister was born and took over the crib... he was in a bed by the time hih sister was born i believe...i don't remember.
Emilie was in our room until she was about 3 months as well - she had her own room as well... just never slept in it. Then my aunt moved into Emilie's room, so her crib went into Zach's room. She used it for a while... but got put on a matress on the floor as well.
We didn't bother putting the crib up this time. Well, we did, but we took it down before she was born... no point having a baby's room when the baby likely won't even sleep in there. Besides - since it has no window, it's a safety issue to have a child in there once it can walk and understand commands to "come here".
The baby's room has been converted to a play room - zach has been moved to emilie's room and vice versa... cuz once Naomie sleeps either in a cib or in a bed, both girls will be in the same room together, so it makes sense for the girls to have the bigger room.
luvmykids replied: With the twins they slept in our room for a few weeks since feedings were so frequent, but after that together in a crib in their own room. I also did what Kelly did-bassinett in the den for naps. It got them used to sleeping through household noise and I could check on them all I wanted. I had to use a monitor once we moved them though, I'm a heavy sleeper!
The baby slept in our room almost 2 years but only because our house was too small. I would've put her in her own room a lot sooner just for my sleeps sake!
Regina replied: My son is less than 3 months old and he's been sleeping in his own room since we brought him home from the hospital. It took some persuasion for the first couple of weeks but now it's much easier to put him down and he is used to the room and likes his crib.
Our Lil' Family replied: ??? I'm not sure I understand this.
remtana replied: Kensington was in our room until she was 3-4 months. Then we moved her into the room she now shares with her sisters. (I will be sooooo glad when we add on to the house!)
I was nervous at first, I kept getting up to check on her!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Both my girls have always slept in their own room unless they are sick or smtg. Both started out with the room next to ours so the crib was really only a few feet away.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wil slept in a bassinette in our room for about 3 months and then in his crib in his own room after that. In our last house, when Wil was first born, we had two rooms with a jack and jill bathroom in between, so when he moved to his own room, I left both bathroom doors open, plus had a monitor on so I could hear him. It made it easy to get up and BF during the night. And I always had easy access to the bathroom!
Myprecioushearts replied: Caden slept in our room in his bassinet for the first 2months. Then we moved him to his crib. I had such a hard time sleeping with him being so close, all those baby noises!
I coslept with my daughter and she ended up with us till she was three!! I learned my lesson though. While I did really enjoying having her so close to me for so long, I couldn't do it again. So Logan did the same as Caden, slept in the bassinet for those first few weeks and then moved to his crib.
BAC'sMom replied: Brand slept with me. Ansley and Callum slept in our room in small cradle beside bed.
holley79 replied: Annika is in the room with me right now in her bassinet. That way I don't have far to go when we actually get to sleep.
