Did you know - "paper" money
luvmykids wrote: is actually mostly cotton and linen? Thats why it holds up in the wash
Cece00 replied: yep, I did. Did you know the life expectancy of a $1 is only 18 months?
HuskerMom replied: How interesting!
A&A'smommy replied: I didn't but good to know!!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Huh, I didn't know that! I guess it's a good thing... it would be too bad if your money disintegrated in the wash whenever you forgot to check your pockets.
luvmykids replied: LOL, I never even wondered why dollars make it through the wash and receipts don't
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Neither have I. I guess I just always assumed that receipts were made out of cheaper paper and with cheaper ink and that was why.
lovemy2 replied: Hey Mon - bored today
Calimama replied: I never knew that! TFS!
luvmykids replied: How'd you guess
3xsthefun replied: I never knew that. That is pretty interesting!
sparkys2boys replied: The things you learn in here I never did know that though either!
msoulz replied: And if you take it out of the dryer promptly you don't have to iron it!

Nina J replied: I have always thought paper money wouldn't be very good, it could get wrecked so easily.
luvmykids replied: Do you guys only have coins?
Nina J replied: We have notes as well as coins, but they're made of plastic. I think they're about as thin as paper notes, but they're harder to tear and last longer.
luvmykids replied: I had no idea, thats kind of cool!
A&A'smommy replied: Wow where are you from?
Nina J replied: Australia; I am from Victoria, it's down the bottom of the mainland.
austins mom replied: i work for a bank and didnt know any of this stuff.. i guess i need to pay more attention...
:.Mrs_Mommy.: replied: I'm the same way, not once did it ever cross my mind
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I watched a show on this a couple of weeks ago on Discovery. It's very interesting to see where our money comes from and how it's made, where it's kept, etc.
My2Beauties replied: Neato!
moped replied: Thank god for that!
A&A'smommy replied: oh thats awesome!!!! I love Australian accents
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Finding money in the laundry is much nicer than finding tissue! That stuff does NOT hold up, as you all probably know. Okay I'm bored too.....
msoulz replied: LOL, so true - I am the WORST at leaving tissue in my pockets. I wish it were money!!
luvmykids replied: My mom LOVES to do my laundry, especially when Jeff's jeans are in it, because she finds money in just about every pocket
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Ever washed a disposable diaper??? Now that's disgusting.
A&A'smommy replied: OMG how did you manage that one
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Hey, don't laugh...your diaper days aren't over, missy!!!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I think I may have done this too...Sad that I do laundry so much that I can't really remember for sure. I can vaguely remember those tiny gell pellets all over the place. And one very FULL diaper, what was left of it. Gross.
I do like the feeling of clean money though! Finding a stray $20 is always niccccce!
