DH having a lumbar puncture - tommorrow
Cece00 wrote: Well, DH's headaches havent gone away completely. They sort of subside & come back, even with the meds. The only thing really helping him is some pain killers, which he can ONLY take at night, so he pretty much just suffers during the day.
Anyway, so the neuro wants to do a lumbar puncture, and DH goes in tommorrow @ 10 am.
I guess the puncture itself is short but he can barely move for 4+ hours after or will risk getting an even WORSE headache that can last for days.
But, if the problem is that the pressure in his head is too high, it might alleviate them. Part of me wishes that was the problem, but then the chances of him having this disorder are higher if that IS the problem.
(This is what the neuro said its possible he may have, along with viral meningitis, migraines, possible but unlikely cancer, etc)

He may need a shunt if this is the problem, but its been suggested by the neuro and ppl @ St. Jude's, so I guess we'll see- in addition to taking 3 tubes of fluid tommorrow, they will measure the intracranial pressure.
Anyway, just wanted to give you an update about DH.
