Crying some more.... - Sorry

TrulyBlessed wrote: I just don't know what to do anymore, seriously. If it is not one thing it is another. My teeth are getting so bad. The one side of my gums is dark red and swollen. I'm so scared I have gingivitis and I have two teeth that are almost completely gone from decay and the fillings coming out. I can't do nothing about it. We just spent $4,000.00 on the girls dental. I don't have any money left to take from my brother's cd and now they will never see that money. Sometimes I just really wish I would've never lost my job. I'm sorry to be crying again and I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm just scared because I know my teeth can hurt the baby and I can't do nothing about it. There is no money to make dental payments, we are currently negative $700.00 a month just to live. I know I should get rid of the internet and I can't bring myself to do that even though I may not have a choice much longer. I know I should be thankful that we have made it this far, but I just can't take much more stress. bawling.gif

Jackie012007 replied: AWWW hun I so know how you feel - I just finished paying off a huge dental bill from when I was pregnant with Carly.

I dunno how lenient your dentist is, but can you just pay $10 a month until you get back on your feet? My dentist let me do that and it took forever, but they were happy as long as they had something paid every month.

Dental issues are not fun - and on top of being pregnant!! Lots of hug.gif .

TeesaŽŠ replied: Brush your teeth as carefully as you can so as not to aggravate your gums. Swish with mouthwash as well. You can water it down a bit if it's strong.

Not sure where you are exactly, but here in Canada, there's special filling stuff you can buy at the pharmacy [Shoppers sells it here] that acts like a temporary filling for cavities. Not sure how temporary, I haven't tried it so I don't know if it's like a day temporary or a week temporary.

I was going to advise you to eat more fruits and veggies, but that's for scurvy, not gingivitis, I always get them screwed up!! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

If toothpaste hurts to use, try using a denture toothpaste. I have really bad teeth and they're so sensitive due to very little enamel on them. I can't use Sensodine or any of the special toothpaste for that because it hurts like @#%@%. My dentist gave me little testers of denture toothpaste to use. It still hurts a little bit, I have to rub it on my teeth to use it, but it's better than nothing.

Nina J replied: I am sorry you are having trouble with your teeth. What kind of care are you giving yourself at the moment? You could try doing some extra things for you mouth to help with the pain, like switching to a specific toothpaste for sensitivity and rinsing with mouthwash or maybe some salty water?

Also, I know when I got my wisdom teeth as a teen/early adult, I used teething gel for the pain. My wisdom teeth grew in the right positions, it was just as they were cutting through the gums that it hurt. Teething gel was a relief.

Also, maybe you could see your doctor? They're not a dentist, but they might be able to give you some medication or something.

mckayleesmom replied: Do you guys qualify for any kind of financial Aid? You might be able to get temporary insurance through them till you find another job.

This is what I was thinking to?? If things are that bad, and they seem like they are, can you not get some aid of some kind? I wouls seriously look into it and then when you are back on your feet you could stop using it hug.gif hug.gif

Oh hun, I'm sorry. I'd definitely look to see if you qualify for any kind of financial help or at least insurance (medicade). I am pretty sure that since you are PG, you'd probably qualify. It's worth a try and there's no shame in asking for help when you need it.

:.Mrs_Mommy.: replied: I would definately try for Medicaid or some other state help. If you are so far in the hold just to survive then maybe you should try it. I know it is difficult sometimes to accept help like that, I did it for a while and I had to swallow some serious pride but it was worth it to have my kids taken care of.
