Chicken Pox - I can't believe it!

Jamison'smama wrote: Just because your baby gets the chicken pox vaccination clearly does not mean they won't get the pox---Jack is a prime example. We got the vaccine in early January---yesterday, he got the pox sad.gif

Poor little guy!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Having had the vaccine, it should be less severe. I sure hope so.

luvbug00 replied: Poor dear! sad.gif but better he get them now then later! can Mya come over to play??

Kaitlin'smom replied: hug.gif poor little guy, hope they are not bothering him. I remeber when my oldest nephew had them when he was little they were horrible on his feet, poor thing could not walk, we had to carry him. Hope Jack feels better soon.

jcc64 replied: Oh man, that's not good! I hope he has a mild case at least!

booey2 replied: Hopefully he won't be as bad as our boys. They had them last Christmas. I have heard of many children who get the vaccine and still get them, that is one of the reasons I didn't run out and get them vaccinated for them. I also heard that the shot would help lessen the severity. May he heal quickly, Aveeno Oatmeal baths worked wonders for my two boys. hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Yeah, I remember being told that. That is why I didn't want Kylie to have it but didn't do my research before hand. dry.gif

Hope he feels better soon. hug.gif

amymom replied: I hope he feels better soon. My dd had them 1 week before she was one year old and scheduled to receive the shot. She had a severe case. My son was almost 7 yrs old and he got them two weeks later and only had 8 spots. He had been vaccinated. BAck then the shot was 80 % effective in total prevention but pretty effective in reducing the severity.

I hope Jack does well. Has Jamison had them already?

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Poor thing, hope he doesn't get them too bad and gets better soon!! hug.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yuck. I rue the day.

MamaJAM replied: Poor kiddo....sounds like he had a long incubation period and got them from the vaccine (my nephew had the same thing happen). Hopefully, he'll have a mild case like most kids who get the vax. hug.gif

kimberley replied: hug.gif poor baby! hope it is mild and he is better soon! hug.gif

luvmykids replied: No fun! Hope its over quickly! hug.gif

3xsthefun replied: Poor baby. mad.gif Hope he gets better soon! hug.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Poor guy!! lots of oatmeal baths...

Tis teh season for pox.. they are going around here too. And there are far more scary things abotu tht shot than just the chance of still getting the shot.
Hope he heals quickly!!
Oh yeah Had Jama had them?

~~*Missi*~~ replied: Yes yes I know that is why I fought tooth and nail with my doctor that i wasn't giving sabrina that vaccine. I would rather natural immunity since the shot isn't a guarantee...

I hope he feels better, do he have a bad case????

Jamison'smama replied: So far only 12 pox---scattered throughout there is one right where his diaper waistband is and one right in the fold next to his boy parts--both of those look miserable. The rest are scattered on his torso, face, head and one on his leg. He seems to feel fine--he does have a raging ear infection as well so it's hard to tell. Jama never had them--had the vaccine so we'll see. The doctor did say that the vaccine should keep his case very mild. So far that is holding true.

Thanks for the warm thoughts!

~~*Missi*~~ replied: ahhhh i hope they clear up soon..... Can you bring him over here LOL...

PhiMuMommy replied: better to have it young..

aveeno oatmeal bath stuff works wonders on the itching and it smells good too!

My3LilMonkeys replied: hug.gif I hope he feels better soon!

But at least his is a mild case, and he is young.

MommyToAshley replied: Poor Jack Jack. hug.gif Glad the vaccine has helped to keep it to a mild case. That really sucks that he has an ear infection as well... poor little guy. Hope he feels better soon and Jama doesn't get them.

I had the chicken pox three times, the last time when I was 21. I didn't have the shot, obvisouly, and the last time was so horrible. I made sure to give Ashley the vaccine.
