mckayleesmom wrote: I just went upstairs to check on the kids...McKaylee is wide awake and she must have snuck out and went into my room because in her bed she had the following...

A yatzi board game
A pair of sissors
Black eyeliner
My Tommy Bahama Lotion...which is very expensive

Thank Goodness I got there when I did...she hadn't cut her yet. mad.gif . That lock for her bedroom door is looking nicer.

My3LilMonkeys replied: In McKaylee's case I think a lock might be a necessary evil. hug.gif I hope things get easier for you.

A&A'smommy replied: OH no she is such a mess.. glad you caught her in time!! hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: What about those plastic locks that you use in drawers/cabinets?? user posted image
We had one of these on our bathroom doors when Kellie was a baby but moving around, and Christian was pt'ing.

You may consider those alarms that go on exterior doors, and windows. They give off a loud buzz when something is opened, but they can be deactivated by a flick of a button. I cannot remember the name of the product, but I believe it is sold at Walmart in their 'as seen on tv' section. It is a two piece item, one on either side of the door/window what you want to secure. If the magnetic field is broken the alarm goes off.

Just a thought.

luvmykids replied: My sympathies! We had to lock Macie's door for a few nights, then she got bored with trying to get out and we're back to normal. At least I haven't seen evidence otherwise ....

Mom2BNTN replied: Hmmmmmmmmmmm...is this what we as soon-to-be parents have to look forward to?? huh.gif

coasterqueen replied: OMG! ohmy.gif Yeah I was going to suggest the locks for cabinets. I have all unsafe things in locked cabinets.

BAC'sMom replied: Yes, they can be little houdini's rolling_smile.gif

Ansley cut her hair when she was about 3yo, when I found her she looked at me and said "Hi Mom, I cut my hair... don't I look pretty?" growl.gif And let me tell you she did a good job too. There were curls everywhere....on the floor.... in the toilet. The more I messed with her hair the more it fell out. emlaugh.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Door lock...probably a good idea
Cabinet locks...Matt figued out how to open them by 11 months so nothing down low is safe. All Unsafe stuff is in the locked laundry room in a locked cabinet

kimberley replied: door locks are a good idea tongue.gif but Jacob figured out the one's posted in a couple of weeks and he wasn't even 3yo at the time! wacko.gif

coasterqueen replied:
ohmy.gif I'm glad Kylie hasn't figured ours out. I can't even get them open 1/2 the time. laugh.gif

calbury replied: Things like this are so scary. When my dd was 18 months, she got out of bed in the morning, found my red lipstick and covered her entire face with it. She then came to wake me up - I opened my eyes and for a split second I thought she was covered in blood! ohmy.gif

After that, we used a lock!

gr33n3y3z replied: wow
you have your hands full

EvesMom replied: Just a point on putting a lock on the outside of the door... God forbid there is a fire or something, you might not want a child locked in their room. Sorry, things like that freak me out.

Insanemomof3 replied: I actually have locks on my kids doors so they can't get out in the mornings. It works wonders. I use them for naps too since they never want to stay in bed. They don't try to get out anymore. blush.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: Put a gate up at the door, thats what we have up so Teagan cant get out at night.
