Birthday party - what did you do
Mommy2Isabella wrote: We live in a townhouse, so there is not really ANYROOM for us to have people here, and we have a half a foot for a backyard.
Any ideas on where to go, we are thinking about our county park but to rent an area its 150 bucks ... they have a public picnic area but if we do that should we cover the cost to get into the park?
Any ideas are appreciated!!
My3LilMonkeys replied: The park charges you to get in? Really? So I guess it's not like a public park or anything then.....which is what I was going to suggest. We have a state park local to us with pavilions and all - it's a great place for parties.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I haven't made much fuss for either of Logan's birthdays yet. Probably won't for this one either. For his first, we had a friend of mine and her kids and Aaron's dad over. For his second, it was just the three of us. I didn't see any sense in making a production of either one as he won't remember them anyway.
grapfruit replied: Wow, yeah I was going to recommend a park too.
Try calling the park service. I know you probably know your area really well, but maybe there's a free park close by that you haven't thought off.
I scheduled my BIL's graduation party for last Sunday, and we had it at a park I knew of, but hadn't thought of. It was nice, secluded and best of all FREE! Plus it had plenty of parking and a covered area w/four picnic tables. There was even a swing set (w/like 4 swings LoL) and a bouncy kind of toy (hard to explain, the kind where you sit on the animals, almost like a teeter totter).
Other then that....ummm....I'll have to think about it more...sorry
Mommy2Isabella replied: Its the county park, I don't know of any around here that are free. Its like a dollar a person to get into the park.
I may ask my mom if she knows of any city parks or something where we could have a shin-dig.
I know she won't remember it, but I know my mom and dad would CRAP themselves if I didn't have a party, and if I have a party with my mom and dad, I have to invite all the family that lives in town or within a few hours driving time ...
If I had it my way I think we would just do cake with the three of us here .. and maybe my mom ... LOL
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Darn parents anyway. LOL. Sometimes I think it's very nice that all of our family lives out of state.
lisar replied: Our parks here are first come first serve. You dont have to rent it. Other than a park I have no ideas.
grapfruit replied: Did you try calling the park service dept? They really should be able to help you.
moped replied: Does your mom have a yard you can use?
Mommy2Isabella replied: My dad has a huge yard, but his crazy wife doesn't like my moms family so she wouldn't allow it ... good idea though.
I am going to call the park place today and figure out a park in the area or something!
moped replied: What about a hotel pool party? I used to work in a hotel that people would rent the pool for parties.....I know she is kind of young but a thought
YOu can have it in my yard no problem!!!!!
Mommy2Isabella replied: WOW JEN! That is so nice of you ... now the question is .. should we cover everyones airfare up there ... LOL
moped replied: Tough call but why not - she only turns 1 once
Mommy2Isabella replied: HAHA ... well, I guess I better put the for sale sign up in the yard and start booking flights now ... HAHA !
Calimama replied: ROFL.
lovemy2 replied: We had a BASH for Olivia's first birthday - does she remember NOPE but its all on video and someday we will have a ball sitting around watching it
