maestra replied: My ped says apples are also binding- like when Jaci was constipated because she ate so much applesauce.

MommyToAshley replied: ITA with the others. Ashley had the opposite problem often when she was younger, so she had to avoid the "BRAT" diet. So, you probably want to put her on the BRAT diet... Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast.
Jenna should also avoid P fruits and juice... but you probably already know that.
Jamison'smama replied: And you can add Yogurt to the BRAT diet--makes it the BRATY diet--helps get the bacteria back where it should be.
MommyToAshley replied: Mmmm...yogurt. Ashley loves yogurt.
That's funny... BRATY diet. I will remember it now though! Thanks!
ediep replied: just wondering.....Is it apples or applesauce??? Not sure if there is a difference, but it seems to me that raw apples have lots of fiber, so wouldn't they have the opposite efffect? Maybe since applesause has cooked apples it breaks down the fiber?
MommyToAshley replied: Interesting, I bet you are right. So the "A" in "BRATY" stands for applesauce then?
jem0622 replied: No, the 'a' is apples. Not applesauce.
Yogurt is very good. It aids in digestion for all of us.

Jamison'smama replied: Askdrsears says:
BRAT diet – this is an age old, time-tested diet. 2. Bananas 3. Rice or rice cereal 4. Apple sauce 5. Toast, unbuttered 6. Yogurt (See Intestinal Healing Properties of )Yogurt
Breastmilk or formula White grape juice or oral electrolyte solution such as Pedialyte. Popsicles also work well.
amynicole21 replied: Fiber is good, it firms things up and keeps it movin' So I am sure that apples and applesauce do the same thing.
Jamison'smama replied: That's probably very true--apples are good no matter what form they take
