Back from my u/s

I went for my u/s this afternoon and everything looks great! There is only one baby, who has a heartbeat of 184 and a due date or 3/23/05. Everything looks really good, and I am so happy. My dh was surprised to feel a huge sense of relief when I told him there was only one. He was so excited about the prospect of 2 thathe thought he'd be really sad. But we agree that with my past of premature labor, twins would have made the pregnancy a little scary.

There was a collection of blood next to the sac, which could have been caused by implantaion or a second sac that never developed and is now absorbing. The u/s tech said she was surprised that I hav't had bleeding from it, but that I could still release the blood and not to freak out if it does happen. I remember having a spot like that with Hannah that I didn't find out about til 22 weeks. I had some bleeding at 10 weeks and the perinatologist said that it was probably just left over blood. I feel good having seem a terrific heartbeat, and if I do bleed a little I am going to try not to freak out.

As for me popping out so fast (4 inches in less than 2 weeks) I am guessing it is just my uterus getting lazy. It must figure that poping out early is less work later on. lol My appt with my MWs is next Tues. I am looking forward to them measuring me to see how far ahead my uterus is from my due date.

Sounds like you had a good appointment and u/s. I remember how neat it was to hear the h/b. I looked forward to that every appointment.
