Are you in shape? - Or do you FEEL like you're in shape?

ashtonsmama wrote: Just wondering...I'm feeling like I never really got the chance to get back into shape after Ashton, and now since I'm PG again, I'm worried I'll NEVER get back into shape and always have "the pooch", or worse...

Just curious how you all feel about your bodies...
And just to add...for everyone I've seen pics of, and that's alot of you....
YOU'RE ALL GORGEOUS, SO NO ONE CAN ANSWER WITH THE 2ND OPTION!
laugh.gif
And everyone I haven't seen, I'm sure you're all gorgeous too...you all are sweet people, so you must be beautiful outside too!

luvmykids replied: I would definitely not say I am naturally good looking! But I am naturally thin blush.gif so I feel pretty good about my figure after 3 kids but cannot take one ounce of credit for it.

Also, I feel like I'm in better shape than I am, health wise. I still have muscles, etc just from chasing/playing with/bathing/wrestling/carrying 3 little kids but am not nearly in the shape I may look like I'm in to some. I couldn't run to save my life, literally, I would collapse after about 20 feet!

eta: I definitely do not have my pre baby body though! But close enough that I'm mostly satisfied. My butt will never be as high as it once was, my boobs either, and I'm a little heftier in the hip area but still pretty well balanced.

I hope I don't sound arrogant, these are the things other people tell me about my shape! blush.gif

Nina J replied: I picked the 3rd option. Ask me in a few months time and I'm sure my answer will have changed. Heck, ask me the day I have this baby and my answer will be different.

I'm actually looking forward to being able to exercise again. I do a bit of exercising while I'm pregnant (walking mostly), but I prefer a more intense workout that makes me sweat like a pig. I'll be doing that again soon happy.gif

PrairieMom replied: I said I didn't think i would ever get back to prepregnancy shape, but that is just becuase i don't diet, and I don't exercise. so I guess it's my own fault. although, up to this point I have been blessed with a good metabolisim, so my only real concern is my health.

MamaJAM replied: Let me just say -

Moooooooo

TANNER'S MOM replied: Round is a shape right! rolling_smile.gif

CosmetologyMommy replied: I said I do not think I will ever get back to my pre preg self. I am trying though! wink.gif

CCTandME replied: I have been MIA for so long. BUT, I am like luvmykids, naturally thin. I am working out everyday now. (well, until I started back to work last week) My only curves are little love handles and a little gut. Other than that, I'm flat. I'd like to work on strength and toning my body.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Somedays I am harder on myself than others so I am 50% I feel like a big ol' cow 50%I am almost there- I am working out! I don't expect my 17 year old body back and I am truly fine with that. There are some flaws now that I have made friends with-my strech marks for example rolleyes.gif I actually think they are sexy in an odd way blink.gif rolling_smile.gif I do think I would like them more if they were on a bit more toned body though! rolling_smile.gif blush.gif rolling_smile.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I am totally in shape, round is a shape.

moped replied: I am working on it - I feel good, in fact better than I did in my 20's, but I want to be better. I look fine, but under the clothes is not so good ya know? I have some BIG people in family so I do need to keep a handle on it, but that doesn't mean that I eat well and excerise like I should!

MommyToAshley replied: I actually need to select the bottom two. But, I choose working on it. DH and I have been going to the gym almost every day going on three weeks now. Before I got PG, I had always been thin. It didn't matter what I ate or if I excercised, I stayed thin. Well... not the case now. I am working on getting back in shape, but I will never be like I was before I got PG. sad.gif

~~*Missi*~~ replied: I am working very hard on it LOL. i joined weight watchers online plus fit day to keep more track of calories in and burned.
I walk at least 30minutes a day everyday. If I can walk there I do now. I feel so much better.
I got a diagnoses of diabetes alittle over a month ago, so far I have NOT had to have medications because with the diet and exercise I am doing great.
I have lost about 23-25lbs now. I am on a herbal pill also that my doctor recommended (his wife used it) to aid in the lose of the weight and so far so good. I am no where what i was but on the fast track to get there.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I worked out a lot after having Wil so I can say I was (past tense) in shape...but I'm not now. I figure I have somewhat of an excuse, right? I'll let you know how it goes in about three months or so............

mom2tripp replied: Right now I feel better than I have in years so I picked the first option, BUT I watch EVERYTHING I eat and work out every night so....

coasterqueen replied:
Completely the same here. thumb.gif rolleyes.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Even though I have lost a lot weight and have gone down 3 sizes in the last year. I still have this tummy flab thing happening. It's so GROSS! I need to start working on toning my body, but have no idea where to even begin. Of course the 1 litre of Ben and Jerry's Half Bake 2 twisted icecream isn't helping or the triple chocolate cheesecake. I've turned into such a PIG! laugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: Well I am still working on being the right weight, but fitness wise I have always been in fairly good shape. Even at my heaviest weight I could still jog a mile or swim 10 laps in a pool.

Brias3 replied: "Thin" genes aren't very widespread in my family so I've always had to work on keeping my weight intact. I'm pretty happy with myself right now, especially after three kids but I certainly have a few pounds on me since before I gave birth three times. Nothing I can't deal with though- I'd say I'm still within 10-15lbs. of my wedding weight and what I have gained has managed to proportion itself pretty evenly. I can't run to save my life, never liked running in general, but do feel that I've maintained muscle and general fitness due to my dancing days. However, I suppose I can always stand to exercise more. Being so busy all the time doesn't leave me as much time as I'd like for exercise but I suppose I get a fair amount in with just the general chasing and moving around! Still, I really need to watch what I eat, otherwise I'd be huge. I so envy people with super high metabolisms!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm definitely not in shape, but I'm way better than I was a few months ago, so I don't really feel like a cow anymore. tongue.gif

jcc64 replied: I work out pretty religiously, and we are a very sporty family, but I am far from where I'd like to be. I've always had an unco-operative metabolism, and I literally have to take in under 800 calories for an entire day to budge the scale at all. That's a monastic existence I'm not willing to undertake right now, so I'd have to say, I'm holding the line with the exercise, but at some point, I'm gonna have to go monastic to get any weight off.

My2Beauties replied: I'm naturally very thin, I have a pretty high metabolism. I exercise a little I guess chasing after Hanna and what not, but not like I should. I have been trying to eat better lately but I still tend to munch on junk food and eat at fast food restaurants too much. I mean I am very happy with my body (except the bb's could be a tad bit bigger laugh.gif ) but as far as healthy wise, I don't feel like a very healthy person. I'm tired a lot and when I do do something strenuous I breath like a 800 lb man! blush.gif Unless I'm out partying and have had a few, I don't feel the stress on my body until the next day laugh.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Not in shape, at all.

Chiflata2003 replied: Well I was trying to lose some weight but since I'm pg again, I'm just now workikng on keeping up with my walking so I wont be too much out of shape after I have the baby.

ashtonsmama replied: LeaAnn, Pam, Carley, and Monica...and anyone else who is "naturally thin"...
I DON'T LIKE YOU!

laugh.gif
TOTALLY just kidding. I love you girls. But I am pretty envious though. And I liked your response, Abbie! I really would like to be in that place of "I know I'm not perfect, but I'm okay with that" right now, but I'm not yet. I know someday that will be possible, but I'm just still not quite happy with my body, especially after getting PG so fast after Ashton, and now having another pregnancy to go through, it's going to be harder to get back in shape I think. Anyways, looks like this is a hot topic! It's fun to see all your responses, and just FYI...I think round is a shape, so some of us are safe!

ashtonsmama replied:
And I just read what I said...and I meant "no one can answer with the 3rd option", but you all got it.
laugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied:
Oh no no no girl...don't misunderstand me here. wink.gif

I am not, have never been, and will never be naturally thin. (Heck, I'll probably never quite be "thin" at all tongue.gif ) I am about 30-40 lbs overweight after having lost almost 30 lbs. I'm in good shape fitness wise, which is part good fitness genes and part because I exercise quite a bit.

ashtonsmama replied: OK-that makes sense! But at least you're pretty fit! That's the part I was getting at! I can run for 10 seconds and sound like I'm 90 years old, but with you I'm betting that is so not the case!
laugh.gif

Brias3 replied:
Me neither....and I'm not kidding dry.gif

Ok, I am biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Although I won't lie and say its not depressing to think of you lucky ducks while I'm eating celery for lunch laugh.gif (Well, not LITERALLY, but you get the picture)

edited for bad spelling

holley79 replied: I'm working on it. I am currently back on Weight Watchers and trying to hit the gym. I am thinking about looking for a jogging stroller for those days I can't make it to the gym. The fresh air would do Annika and I a world of good. Joggers are just so expensive though so I'm trying to find one used. I know I can get back to my pre prego if I work hard enough. I have to remind myself that it took 9 months to put it on, it's not going to come off over night.

J-rod replied: technically im in shape.....ROUND is a shape emlaugh.gif

nah im not that bad yet...i fell like it but ive always been concerned with my weight...used to lift religously...now all i have are dusty weight bench and stuff.

Cece00 replied: I used to be pretty "average"- I wouldnt have ever considered myself "thin" (or what I consider thin) but I used to be OK, not fat. Of course, three kids has changed that A LOT. In 2004 I had lost 30 lbs, then got married & had my daughter. I'm pregnant again right now...so yeah, I am a bit fluffy!

BUT, once I have this baby, I plan to wory very hard to lose some weight. I dont want to be "thin"- I carry weight so well that "thin" to me, would not look right on me. So I just want to be average again. I know my body will never go back to normal (saggier boobs, stretch marks, etc wont ever go away) but I'd still like to be a few sizes smaller & look a little less "jiggly".
