Are you a sucker?

I say sucker with much lightheartedness, but in truth I know I am.
So the question is, do you give in to sales pressure?
Chris knows that I will feel sorry for the salesperson trying to make a sale, and I sometimes will buy out of guilt. I give him the reins to take control and to pull me out of the situation but he often puts it back on me to make the decision. Usually with a "it's your choice, Nicole" grrr...
So are you a sucker at times for sales pressure, or can you say no and not think twice?
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I don't usually cave unless it is something I really want in the first place I have a friend who can walk by the people in the mall that sell things out of the keosks...like they did not even speak I always feel bad because it seems so rude! I try to think of it now like I am not gonna buy so why waste their time? They may miss another sucker who will buy something just because I am being 'polite'
C&K*s Mommie replied: how true!
I just thought of a synonym for sucker... a duck. A sitting duck, someone waiting for someone to come along and try to sell things things that are not needed, but they buy it anyways.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I am not really because I just tell myself I can't afford it - I am very stingy with money.
DH, on the other hand, would buy anything you tried to sell him.
mom2my2cuties replied: Depends on my mood. Most of the time no. Because I am too busy trying to corral Andy to stop and talk.
Most of the time when I'm in the mall and I see the kiosks that do a lot of hackling - I walk close to the stores and appear to "window shop" or will just shake my head no. I don't have a lot of time, nor do I like a lot of stuff put on my skin and things without seeing what it is first. When I was pregnant with Andy, we had this particularly obnoxious lady trying to sell purfume and she had the nerve to spray it on me after I said "No I am very sensative to smells right now as I am pregnant and while we were starting to walk away she grabbed my arm and sprayed anyway. So that kind of turned me off big time to the "pressure" sales tactics.
I guess I tend to be a leave me alone and let me shop type of person - I would rather shop with out pressure I guess. Shopping for eye glasses is the worst thing for me. I can't stand someone following me around, telling me what they think, saying oh that is a bad color for you, it's a bad look etc. After a while, they seem to get the hint that i am getting annoyed, usually it's because my husband says "We will take a few minutes to think it over and come back" when he sees I am at the point of saying "Hey, Back off!"
luvbug00 replied: No. for 2 simple reasons
1. i'm too cheap!
2. I used to work sales and I know the tricks they try to use.
A&A'smommy replied: I usually hang up IF they call sales people are not suppose to call here.. yes I feel sorry for them but not enough to buy anything all of our resources are put towards what we NEED
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I had to add I am a HUGE sucker for cool cleaning supplies or gadgets! I don't why but I just get all facinated when stuff like the swiffer wet jet comes out!
redchief replied: No, I"m too cheap to be a sucker.
luvmykids replied: Me too, my latest acquisition is the Carpet Flick thingy. Pretty cool little gadget
I'm a sucker, I am so bad I have to avoid salespeople all together
Hillbilly Housewife replied: No. Actually, I usually get a lower price too, usually simply by asking. If they're saying "we're not supposed to", I think that's code for - "tell me you're not going to buy it, THEN I'll go talk to my supervisor."
I don't think I've paid full price for anything (I mean anything in like appliace stores or furniture stores, not general stuff) in years.
But usually I have my kids with me, so I don't get bothered really.
gr33n3y3z replied: if its the phone I hang up on them
If I'm in the mall I say no thank you then they get me on the way back LOL and I say I told you No!!!! 30 min ago duhhh
MoonMama replied: I do pretty good and can say no, unless like Abbie said I wanted it in the first place. But I'm a huge sucker when that time of year rolls around for girl scout cookies, but then again I wanted those to begin with too.
