mckayleesmom wrote: clothing size denial for your kids? I hate to think my kids are getting bigger...so sometimes I will look at something and think....that is way too big for her and get the size smaller....then it is too small and reality hits me in the face. You can see my denial in Mckaylee's birthday pics I posted....you can tell the shirt is too small in the one where she is cooking in her kitchen.....you can see her tummy. I just bought that outfit a week ago. rolling_smile.gif I guess its 3T for the rest of the summer. bawling.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: kind of but mine goes both ways. I will hold something up thinking it will fit one of them...and it doesn't. weither to big or too small it doesn't seem to matter. Matt's clothes generally look huge when I'm holding them and Katy's generally look like they will be too small.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Yes, all the time. It doesn't help that Logan is on the thin side. I look at things and think, those will fall right off. So I get a size smaller and the waist fits, but the length looks like clam diggers. I did get him a pair of pants at Target a month ago that are supposed to be short like that. I need to just buy the 18 month stuff and pin the waists. But he's still my baby. wub.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Kelly the good news in boys pants is that starting at 2's tons of them come in adjustable waist bands...unfortunately I have a heck of a time finding girls adjustable waist in less than a regular 4

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
Thanks, Lisa. I can't wait. I'll have to post a pic of him in 18 month stuff. It is too funny. The shirts are way long and the pants do that little gangsta thing (hanging on the bum)

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Alex is tall and skinny, so 18 monthes pants fit his waist but are tooo short, so we get 2T pants and he wears a belt!
Shirts, it all depends on where I get them. Walmart and Kmart I get him 3T, Oldnavy 2T fits pretty well.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: not really i knew a few people who do but not me. Sabrina is always been long and skinny so I have been buying a size up just to accomodate her long legs. She is just like her father. The crappy thing is the waist gets bigger to so her clothes fit in length but they are WAY TO BIG in the waist.

No one wants thier kids to grow up......but they are bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

MamaJAM replied: I have a hard time giving clothing sizes to others to shop for my kids. Since every company seems to have it's own sizing-system...though DD#3 is often in a 7/8 - sometimes that size is way to tight on her. If I'm doing the shopping - I'm pretty good at knowing which size will fit the kids though.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
This happens to me too!
I tell MIL it depends on where she shops and she usually get the wrong size.
I think she just goes by his age and since he is 2 she gets him 2T....doesnt always work that way!!

MamaJAM replied:
DD#3's b-day was the end of March - my mother asked what size she was in to buy her some clothing. I said to get her 7/8. My mom bought her 2 t-shirts that are skin-tight (though they are 7/8)...she also bought a jeans jacket (size 7/8) that DD is swimming in! wacko.gif It's so frustrating.

luvmykids replied: I always always think clothes in the right size seem huge but have learned my lesson blush.gif Kylie is still hard though, she has a teeny tiny waist and super long legs, even the adjustable waists are usually not quite right, too big in the waist but good in length. Such problems, I would love to have the same issue! rolling_smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I have some Old Navy Jeanes for Kait 3T that are adjustable in the waist thumb.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I have this problem with Madison because she's short & round - 12-18 months fits well in the waist but she could still be in a 9 month for length.

Brooke I do okay for with pants - but shirts I usually think will fit her and her tummy ends up poking out because they're so short.

Brias3 replied:
It's the same situation with Aliyah. Usually the Gap slims fit her ok but length never seems to be in accordance with the size she needs with pants.
