Anyone else?? - Allergies...

MyLuvBugs wrote: Has anyone else noticed their allergies going crazy already? Man alive!!! The pollen count here in Lincoln has been SOOOO high lately, my allergies have just been nuts wacko.gif The dry itchy eyes, stuffy yet runny nose, and the sneezing....UGH. Can't it just snow already!?!?!? LOL laugh.gif But seriously...it seems so early for hay fever symptoms doesn't it? huh.gif

kimberley replied: wavey.gif been wheezin and sneezin for 2 weeks growl.gif not to mention my sinuses going mental wacko.gif

it is real early for this hug.gif hope you feel better soon.

luvmykids replied: I just learned something interesting ... I've always *thought* I was allergic to melons, bananas, avocados, nuts & cucumbers, but it turns out it's a ragweed allergy. Apparantly those food items have the same protein in them as ragweed so it's not the actual food but that one specific protein. Weird huh huh.gif Cooking them would kill it, too bad I don't like any of them hot rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: OMG I love you Monica! LOL rolling_smile.gif

i have NEVER understood my freaky melon/cucumber allergy and everyone bugs me asking why i can eat pickles.. i am always like.. idontknow.gif dunno.gif

mystery solved! thanks! i can sleep well tonight happy.gif

luvmykids replied:
rolling_smile.gif I am a pickle fiend, I never even thought of that emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

snooze.gif Sleep well now!

amymom replied: Monica thanks for the info!!

And yes the allergies have hit this house something awful. My son, myself and MIL.
Shhhh my dd is not affected yet shhhhhh don't say anything. My DH never gets it.

Jamison'smama replied: Going crazy here too---itchy eyes as we speak.

edited because I can't spell this early in the morning

coasterqueen replied: Mine have been bothering me but I believe it's because it's harvest time around here and living in the country it's expected to have them worse this time of year in our neck of the woods. rolleyes.gif For me as harvest really gets going mine only get worse until harvest is gone, gone. wacko.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Monica, did you read that in a parenting mag? If so, I saw that article. It was about 2 days after a friend had said that her mouth gets tingly with melon. I thought that was the wierdest thing I'd ever heard until I saw that article. rolling_smile.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: My allergies have been so bad along with sinus headaches
That explains why I get mouth blisters when I used to eat melons bc I'm very allergic to ragweed ty for the info smile.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Itchy eyes and lots of sneezing here! Yuck and blah!

luvmykids replied:
For the life of me I can't remember where I read it but it may have been Parenting.

I can't eat more than a bite or two of any of that stuff, my mouth and throat swell and I break out in hives. I make an exception for watermelon and avocado though, I just take a dose of benadryl first blush.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: wavey.gif dry.gif My allergies have been worse than ever this year - I've had itchy watery eyes and sneezing and congestion for about a month and a half, maybe 2. Harvest time is coming up here too... I don't even want to think about that. wacko.gif Claritin helps some days and some days it doesn't. It doesn't help with my itchy eyes though, I don't know why. unsure.gif

I hope you can get some relief soon! hug.gif
