Anybody dealing with teething?

turtlemama77 wrote: My dd is 4 months old, and I think she's teething! She's chewing on everything, drooling like crazy...and she's been a little fussy and unhappy the last couple of days.

Any advice for me to help her feel better? We've given her tylonel if she's feverish or very uncomfortable. She's not quite at the point that she can really hold a teething ring or toy to her mouth for very long yet.

I'd appreciate any input!!

3_call_me_mama replied: Kathleen has gotten a couple teeth so far and we have given her baby anbesol a few times. It seems to be worse at night. She hates the anbesol though, cause it numbs her mouth all up and she can't feel anything. But it seems to help after a few minutes.

isabellasmommy replied: I feel for you,my little one is going through the same thing -- i found this net pacifier thing at babys r us - you can put food inside the net and they can suck on it... well, i put pieces of melon in the fridge then put them in it for her... she loves it, it numbs her gumbs and she chews on it. It seems to help so far. I am also giving her the homeopathic tablets by hyland.... i know little remedies also makes them.

good luck ! biggrin.gif

Jordon and Lisa replied: Our little guy has just started teething too. We've been using this product:

Baby Camilia. It's homeopathic, and seems to work great, at least so far. I prefer something like this rather than a numbing agent.

jem0622 replied: We are not there yet (x2 to boot!) but my faves for teething is Motrin and Hyland's teething tabs. Nothing else has compared to their effectiveness.

Frozen washcloths are helpful. And you can also use the mesh teethers with frozen banana in them.

HUGS

chloe&tysmommy replied: ugh we are going through that right now! He already has 4 teeth but I think he has more coming...he is sooooo moody sad.gif plus he's fighting a cold and has a throat infection!

Poor kiddos.. and for us nothing seems to help except a cold washcloth for the teething

moped replied: Jack has a couple teeth and is working on the top ones - I like Hyland Teething tablets and maybe tylenol if you think they really need it......or a popcicle in the bathtub I heard is fun - althought jack didn't like it......but it could be a temporary relief

bwalkerletters replied: A cold wet washcloth worked for Maddie.........

moped replied: Yep Jack also like the washcloth - thanks for reminding me!

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Some people sware by the Hyland teething tablets, we tend to use the ambasol swabs. Now that they are older when the are getting teeth they tend to chew on the cup spouts or their hands.

ZandersMama replied: When Zander started teething we couldnt find anything to help him, but recently found a soother made by NUBY that is really a teether. It goes in the freezer, the stuff inside doesnt freeze but it gets really cold. This should work for your daughter where she is to young to really hold it, she can suck it like a pacifier. It was fairly cheap , only 2.97 at Zellers baby.gif good luck, my boy has 6 now wacko.gif

Merlin replied: I have to agree with the people who say hylands teething tablets they work great! but if your baby has a dairy intolorance be careful they do have some dairy in them... Also I use green onion shallots because thats what my mother used for me and they work wonders and the pedi said that they are safe to use!
