Any Roomba lovers out there getting Scuba?
coasterqueen wrote: I was just curious if any Roomba lovers are pre-ordering Scuba for Christmas? We've known for months she was coming out (yes in our home Roomba is a he and Scuba will be a she ) but I just got the email yesterday that we can pre-order now in time for Christmas! Yippee! I asked DH last night if he wants her and he said "heck yes, I'm busting my butt down here 18 hours a day, I deserve to buy her!". What a dork he is. He doesn't care what she does, he just wants another robot. He thinks Roomba is very lonely and that's why he went mental on us. Poor Roomba has been out of commission since a week before DH left (Sept 25) and IRobot has been sending us replacements but something's not working right. We hope to get a new one again here real soon before mommy goes nuts not having him here.
Just curious. I really think she's too expensive to buy but I can't argue with Dh who is working 80-90 hours a week. Poor guy isn't even getting a full nights sleep he's working so much So I guess he does deserve it, it's his money anyways.
holley79 replied: You are talking about that self vacuum right??? (So it's a blonde moment for me. LOL) I heard about those and wondered if it actually worked.
Where is DH now? My FIL is working with FEMA now and he is in Ft Myers.
coasterqueen replied: Yeah Roomba is the robot vacume cleaner. Our only prized possession. He does an AWESOME job, even much better than our regular vacume at cleaning up cat hair. We have a longer haired white cat and she sheds hair like crazy everywhere and Roomba picks it up 10x better than our very nice fairly new vacume.
I just set Roomba to vacume certain areas of the house every day before I leave for work. Keeping the floors "swept" makes it feel like the house stays cleaner. I then use a regular vacume every weekend. Right now Roomba is out of commission and it SUCKS because my floors seem dirty all the time. ICK!
The best investment we've ever made and we convinced my SIL to get one too and she said the same thing.
Edit: I forgot to answer your question. DH is in Louisiana working with FEMA. He did his training in Washington Sept 25 through Oct 5 and left for LA on Oct 6. He's not projected to be home til late January early February. HOw about your FIL. How long has he been out there and how long is he going to stay?
MomToMany replied: What does Scuba do? I've heard of Roomba, but not Scuba.
kit_kats_mom replied: I covet one.
It will probably be my birthday present in Feb since we are getting annual passses to Bush Gardens for the big family christmas gift this year.
coasterqueen replied: Well IF we get it I'll let you know how she does.
coasterqueen replied: She mops!
Scuba
Edit: I spelled her wrong. It's Scooba.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I WANT ONE I so hate moping, and I dont have that many surfaces to mop, but I am thinking of ripping up carpet and putting down something other than carpet in the dinning area, this would be so awsome. I would also love the vaccume one also
coasterqueen replied: You might check the link I provided on Scooba, but I think I recall that she doesn't do hard wood floors.....I can't remember. I haven't read the specs on her since I got the first email awhile back.
holley79 replied: My FIL did his training in Port Arthur, TX. He worked in the effected areas in TX for a few weeks then they transferred him to Ft Myers. He will probably be there till mid Feb to early March.
jem0622 replied: I could never justify an expense like this on our budget.
coasterqueen replied: We never could either. The only reason why we could is because DH is working 80 to 85 hours a week right now instead of 40. So he's making a bit more money and while it should ALL go towards debt, I think DH deserves this one thing for all the crap he's going through to make the money. Otherwise there is no way in heck we'd be able to justify this expense in our budget.
