I liked Chris, and I don't really think he turned every song into a rock song, he just stayed true to who he is as a singer.

Look at ALL the past idols, NO ONE except Kelly Clarkson went anywhere after the first song and this is exactly what this year is going to turn into. What a disgrace. I mean common, I love Taylor, he makes me laugh, but its PITY! Who is really going to spend money to go see him in concert or buy his CD? Oh ya, to say chris was soley on looks is hourse shyt!!!!!!!! He has an amazing voice and is the ONLY person who wasnt afraid to stick to their roots and not conform into something else. Sorry that comment really rubbed me the wrong way

Jamison'smama replied: Well I for one would buy Taylor's album. His music is exactly what I listen to. Granted I am not into the current top 10 type music but his style is really timeless. If you have listened to anything he has done in the past it is pretty good. He is a James Taylor, Joe Cocker type singer---that certainly doesn't mean he can't go far in the business. Singers like Chris are out there....People seem to be looking for something different. It is CERTAINLY not pity votes Taylor is getting. Although Fantasia and Ruben don't seem to be doing much, Carrie Underwood seems to be doing well.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I would not be surprised if Chris has record deals waiting for him, after all of the press mess he will be doing these next few days. He still has a promising career, IMO. I look forward to him coming out with a CD one yr. I do not listen to rock stations solely, I tend to listen to mainstream more for the variety of music. So I could be wrong in this comment; but as far as I have heard with solo singers in the rock genre there have not been many lately. Soulful music, maybe pop and of course hip-hop. But the tendency of this yr is leaning more towards punk-rock groups. Solo singers are not as prevalent as they have been, IMO, as in yrs past. I look forward to him coming out no matter what.

As for Taylor, I look forward to what he does as well. He seems to have a promising career ahead too.

Whether Taylor makes it as the American Idol, is to be determined later. But I think the two of them (Chris and Taylor) will be heard from again.

He sounded like he was talking with a Grunt. ever listen to the Fall out boys ? they are rock and their lead singer can actually sing. a real singing voise IS needed to carry any rock singer. I think he'll get a deal but i don't think he'll ever be taken serious in the rock world.

Also, ITA about thinking that him singing was a set up. I was literally holding my breath until Ryan said he was safe.

ever heard Shine Down? rough voice but very distinct and powerful? what about Pearl Jam? then you got harder rock like Disturbed, SYOAD, Tool, etc.

he can change his image to be more like himself and not like the prep he had on there and he can have a good start in the rock industry...there isnt many solo rockers in the market.

mckayleesmom replied: Well the reason I didn't care for Chris is because he sang all the songs that were in right now...he didn't bring anything to the table that I don't here on the radio everyday already. I wanted something different and new and to me...Taylor and Elliot have it.

Chris sang Bon Jovi....he sounded just like Bon Jovi, but guess what? We already have a Bon Jovi.

Chris sang Styx...he sounded like Styx....but guess what? We have done them already too....

He didn't bring an origional sound,,,just copied what is already popular on the radio.

Do I think that Chris is going to be famous someday? Yep, but he will also be hard to tell apart from the rest of the bands that sound the same that are on the radio right now.

what about Creed, GooGoo Dolls. Matchbox 20, Bon JOvi! I am huge fans of all of them and I think CHris was up there with them.

I honestly think that Chris was BY FAR the best singer on that show.

BTW- I couldn't stand whiney Paris

That boy had by far the BEST voice, best personality, best stage pressence then anyone on that show, hense why ALL the judges thought he would be winning. He will sell more records then the 3 finalists hands down.

I believe he gets some sort of cut from the winning idol's record sales, and I think he probably knows/thought that Chris was the most "bankable" of the remaining contestants. I really like Elliot and Taylor, though I think their appeal is more limited and specific than Chris' seemed to be. Katherine, while technically a very good singer, lacks significant charisma or soul, imo. I respected Chris' talent and showmanship, but I've been told by a relative that does publicity for the show that he's extremely arrogant, and that did sort of shine through last night. I really wasn't rooting for him, but I did expect him to win.

My2Beauties replied: Chris was my absolute favorite, as far as I'm concerned I could care less who wins now. I don't think he got through based on his looks neither, the man has major TALENT and he can rock his butt off. As far as I'm concerned, he's probably better off without that American Idol contract to be honest, Kelly Clarkson said she had to fire them because they were sabotaging her career, she said that they make way too much money off of the Idols and they get basically nothing out of the whole deal. Chris will go far and he will sell millions, mark my word. He probably has a deal waiting for him today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Taylor, but he's not my style. Kat has a beautiful voice but she screwed up Tuesday night, and she deserved to go last night. Elliott did good Tuesday too, but hasn't been the best throughout the competition. Honestly, I have and always will think the show is rigged

luvmykids replied: The thing I think is hard is that on AI they do have to be limited by the weekly "theme" and it's hard sometimes to know what they would do on their own album without restrictions. Look at Bo Bice, I loved him on the show but his album was way too "commercial" I felt like he had to sell out to appeal to the masses, I don't feel like it was really Bo. I really thought he would do the classic rock type thing like he did on the show, stuff that sounded like Sweet Home Alabama or that song he did accapella. But his album was cheesy, mushy, and soft. On the other hand, I didn't like Kelly Clarkson on the show but really love her albums.

So the moral of the story is, you never know what they'll do IRL.

Ya you are right about him not putting is own mix on the songs he sang...I agree that we will hear him again someday.

Taylor is great...I love his total performance dancing and all....but he has an established singing career already with a bad back home...if he doesnt make it to be the next AI he will be alright. So I'm hoping Kat wins in the end!

Although I do not own Kelly Clarkson's CD nor Bo Bice', I think by the radio airplay alone that Bo had to settle with pre-written 'pop' songs that were obviously not of his own creation. Whereas Kelly, I think she stayed true to herself and has been a success because of it. Hopefully Bo, will be able to get out from under the AI contract's thumb and move on away from it. And create and regain his original fanbase. The same hope I have for Chris, now. Stay true to his roots, not for the instant fame and money that will die once the fad dies, but for the longtime non-fair weather fans he can have and continue to have.
