American Idol - NOT a spoiler
mckayleesmom wrote: Did everyone place their votes???? If your person gets voted off...you have nobody to blame but yourselves you know???
jacobsmama replied: great point!!!
A&A'smommy replied: LOL I voted twice for two different people! Its SOOO much easier texting thank goodness for cingular!!
holley79 replied: I started watching it but then quit. The girls aren't as much fun to watch as the guys.
My3LilMonkeys replied:
I will watch the guys tonight and probably vote but I don't really care for the girls - I prefer males singers in general.
ediep replied: me too
although I tivo-ed it so I'll try to watch it later
I watched Gilmore girls instead
amynicole21 replied: I voted twice - loved Mandisa and Lisa.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I voted as much as I could..
Kelli and Mandessa..
DH voted for Lisa..
luvbug00 replied: to be honest only the girl who sang last and the celiene dion song girl were any good. But what were they thinking this year?? none of the contestants can hold a candle to kelly clarksons vocal strength. or Bo bices. I dunno i think this show may be running it's last race...
Kaitlin'smom replied: Well personaly I think the girls BLEW it. It was boring. Some were OK but over all NOT a great performance from any one. I miss the WOW. Very dissapointed in many, and like the judges said SONG CHOICE SONG CHOISE. No one Brought it. I hope the guys are better tonight.
jcc64 replied: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz- what a snoozer! I think Paris, Mandisa, and Lisa are the only ones with any real talent, and even they all picked lame songs. And I'm sorry, I know that cute little blond girl from North Carolina is sweet and all, but her presence in the competition really really irritates me. It's an undeniable fact of life that girls that look like her receive all sorts of perks, breaks, and approbations based on nothing more than winning the genetic lottery, but it still irritates me when it's right in my face. If she was any less attractive and sweet, she never would have gotten this far. It's a singing competition, or so I thought.
jem0622 replied: I'm such a deadbeat. LOL. I've watched every show but never called in to vote.
ETA - I was extremely disappointed in all of the girls last night. I feel like they got too comfortable last night and blew it. If no one ever watched earlier shows to know their talent, then they surely wouldn't have voted for any one of them last night! They need to straighten up and show their stuff! I did like the Celine song and Mandisa.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I see it totally different.
This girl is a POOR girl..who's father is in jail..taking care of her Grandfather..and working as a Sonic Car hop to make ends meet. She is underprivildged and basically what alot of people would call uneducated and white trash.
She has a natural if not RAW talent..and no money for things as voice lessons, and fancy voice teacher. Her Grandmother is not a professional singer. So she works her butt off and sings..and makes an audition on American Idol.
She is cute.. what is wrong with that. She is not perfect, her life is not perfect. She is grasping at whatever it takes to makes something of herself..and not be what happened to her dad.
I give her props for trying hard and for working hard. She may not be the BEST vocal singer..but she is working and improving on what God gave her not what someone taught her.
I like the other singers..but Kelli shouldn't be out b/c she is cute. Then half the men would have to leave based on looks.
mckayleesmom replied: I agree
jcc64 replied: I understand that her back story is compelling, but the fact remains that no one would be interested in hearing about it in the first place if she wasn't so cute. Lots of people who tried out had sad/compelling odds to overcome. But it's a singing competition, not social work. (Do I sound like Simon or what? )
mckayleesmom replied: I think she is an awsome singer....She was great in her audition...She was the first person I liked. I just think they all picked horrible songs last night.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I don't know..
If we never looked at ACE.. would we love him? Or the same with Chris?
Or Mandesa...if we didn't know she was beautiful and could sing and dance despite her weight. If we never heard her put Simon in his place would we would love her. What she said speaks volumes about her personality the same as Kelli. It affects how she represents herself..as does Kelli's life.
If it didn't matter what they looked like, how they represented themselves..then we would listen to the radio for a competetion like this.. Tv apprearances wouldn't matter at all.
mckayleesmom replied: I agree Mel.
ammommy replied: Does anyone know how they choose their songs? Do they get any help or input in this stage of the competition or is it a free for all? Last night was so boring that I flipped to the pilot of CSI on cable (old old rerun!)after hearing the first few seconds of most of the songs. Hopefully, tonight will be better.
mckayleesmom replied: I remember 1 of them mentioning that they have 100 songs to chose from or something like that.....So maybe they didn't have a good selection.
kidsarecrazy replied: I sometimes vote later in the season but normally don't this early...though I was sad to see Patrick go last week, so maybe I should get more into it earlier on! I agree with those who think the boys are more interesting so far...
luvmykids replied: I think Kelli is darling and has a very neat story, I also don't think she's one of the best singers. So I love her for her, but as of now haven't voted for her for her singing. I just go by the performance that night, even if I love a person I don't vote for them if they didn't do well that night. And I try to picture buying their album too. If I wouldn't buy it, I don't vote for them.
