Alexis Marie ~~ and info about the L&D

Lacy went to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, but after 4 hours got sent home. The contractions subsided. I was then with her until 2.am Saturday. At 4:30am I got the phonecall that she was again at the hospital.
I rushed right up there. It was decided that she was there to stay. Lacy's day was VERY long and exhausting (she didn't sleep the night before). So she was given Nubane for relaxation. She slept on and off until she was approx 7 cm dilated.
Her BF didn't know what to do, so I was basically taking charge and letting him know what to do and when.
When she was 9 cm, the doctor broke her water at 9pm, things still moved fairly slowly after that. She had ALOT of back pain. Then, out of nowhere her contractions kicked in and got to be alot more consistent and effective. I coached her through her breathing, rubbed her back, held her hand.
Her dad, my DH, chose to sit at home and wait until it was close. Lacy talked to him on the phone and she really wanted him there with her. He came up and took over massaging her back, holding her hand, ect.

Her BF then fell asleep when she got into the HARD labor right before pushing

The nurse looked at me and said "If it were me, I'd be pissed if I was in labor and my BF was sleeping. Please tell him to wake up NOW or leave!". I tried to wake him up but he wouldn't.... so my DH tried giving him a tap, but to no avail, so next time my DH attempted to wake him up, he was not so nice about it.... needless to say, her BF woke up REAL fast.

It was then time for her to push at about 12:45am. She pushed for an hour. It was just wonderful!!

She has 2 small tears at the top of her vaginal opening. Breastfeeding is successful, but frustrating. They are both doing wonderful. I am heading back up there in a little bit. I'll check back here later.

OH yeah, before I forget..... Ashley was also able to be in there for the delivery!! At first she was kind of shocked by it.... but after the birth, Ashley broke down crying and hugged her sister so much!!

Her birth story got me all choked up especially the parts about your DH being in there to comfort and help her and also Ashley being able to take part..it was a real family moment, I'm glad!

Man oh man that BF of hers......I'm soo glad you were there for Lacy and got to be a part of the birth as well as Ashley and DH.

(at least that was the reason he gave me today as to why he fell asleep)

Thank you all.... she is absolutely gorgeous!!

I was just up there.... Lacy was holding her and I asked if I could... her BF said "I don't think that is such a good idea.... She screams whenever anyone besides Lacy holds her... even me".

I held her... and she was perfectly content!!

Tell Lacy good luck from me, and I hope that she's able to stick with breastfeeding, it really is worth it after the initial pain...

mom2my2cuties replied: I swear woman, you have got to have the kindest most gentle and patient soul. I would have beat that BF with whatever was nearby by now. It seems you have been absolutely kind to him when he doesn't deserve anything but a size 20 up his butt.

I just tried calling Lacy and there wasn't an answer in her hospital room. So, the nurse went there to check and she came back and told me that "they" said she was sleeping. So, I don't know if her BF has company up there right now or what.

But, she told me yesterday that her Dr said they can go home today.
