A&A's mommy inspired me..

julesmom wrote: to finally join weight watchers. I have wanted to join for so long, but kept putting it off.

Jessica-your weight loss inspired me to join and I am down 8.8 lbs so far, in 2 weeks.

boyohboyohboy replied: congrats! I did it for one month and lost 12 pounds but then got off track. I keep thinking of starting it again, but the hardest part for me was making home made meals and measuring out the points..
I am fine if I eat the premade stuff from WW but that gets expensive and not real practical.
do you have a trick for making real meals and getting the points measure correctly?
or keeping up on enough food ideas not to get bored?

moped replied: I would love to but I honestly dont know how to figure it all out.....anyone help? Is there easy instructions for the point system?

MommyToAshley replied: WTG!! That is awesome!

CantWait replied: That's awesome!!!! WTG! thumb.gif

boyohboyohboy replied:
Jen they give you a book and a slide finder that shows you how to do the points, and I think its easy to use on like box food or prepared food but its hard for me to figure out the exact points on home made food, and I am type A I want the exact points or it doesnt work for me

I enjoyed the meetings too

julesmom replied: I don't stay for the meetings, just go and get weighed and leave. I know, I'm supposed to stay, but I just am not into the meetings.
I just need to pay the money and be held accountable. If I don't lose, then I feel like I am wasting my money and I do not want to do that!
WW is online now too, but that is more confusing to me. I just use the book and find the food in it's category, figure out how much I ate and then record the points used. It's very easy.

boyohboyohboy replied:
but say you want to make a meatloaf...so how do you add the points for each thing you put in it, and then how do you figure how much you get in one serving?
thats my delima

mummy2girls replied:
What I usually do is... i make my own serving. So if i make shepards pie for teh family I tae out half cup ground beef, half cup of potatoes and 1 cup if corn and cook it in a small individual cass dish that i have. same with meatloaf and such. I usually add cheese and all that good stuff to my families meals but o mit stuff like that on mine. It can get boring if you make teh same thing all teh time so i try and switch it up. i have lost 45 so far after having breanna , stopped for a few months but stayed at the same weight because i taught myself portion control. and now im back on it and want to lose another 40lbs. I do buy the smartones frozen meals for my lunches. And i do buy teh snack stuff as well. i also have thise 100 cal snacks like thinsations, etc

A&A'smommy replied: YAY!!! I'm SO glad I can inspire someone else!!! It helps SO much to see someone else succeed at weight loss... before my ww leader (who is now pregnant and taking leave indefinitely, but another friend took over) I didn't really know anyone who was successful with weight loss so I would loose and gain it back but now I'm inspired to keep it off!!!
KEEP up the hard work it will pay off!! thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
the best and easiest way to do it and figure up the points is... add the meet, ketchup ect calories together, then the fat and then the dietary fiber and figure up the points for the WHOLE thing then decide your portion and how many points you want to eat. Pretty simple but took me a while to figure out.. I have a ww kitchen scale and it helped the first couple of time I did it.

julesmom replied: Weighed in today. Down 13!! thumb.gif

youngmomofone replied: Yay you're doing great!!!

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: wow!! wtg, mama!!

MommyToAshley replied: You are doing so awesome!!!

A&A'smommy replied:
YAY!!!!!! Keep up the excelent work!!
