It was such a crazy day. My oldest had a friend over for a sleepover/playdate, my #2 had a playdate at her friend's house in the afternoon, #3 is potty training (b/c me dh announced the night before that there would be no more diapers...grr!), and #4 learned to roll from belly to back and wouldn't sleep. By the time I got everyone to sleep it was 10pm and I fell asleep myself. ohmy.gif

I am so sorry and I just feel I cannot say it enough. I will answer all my questions right now. Thank you all for taking the time to post them. I hope you aren't too mad at me! wub.gif

MamaMartie replied: "Do you have any tattoos or piercings?"
No tattos. I am really afraid of needles and I don't like anything enough to have it perminately painted onto my body.

I have 2 earring holes in each ear. It used to make me feel daring and cool (15 years ago) but now that is nothing. laugh.gif Belly rings are kind of cute my I spend a lot of tiem trying to detract attention from my less than perfect belly, so no belly ring for me. rolleyes.gif

There must be anothewr hole in my head that I don't know about....you know the one that made me totally forget to answer my spotlight questions!

"Fav food?"

Sugar..does that count as a food? I like soft pretzles a lot too.

Fav dessert?
Lemon merangue (sp?) pie wub.gif

Ahh...2 questions that are close to my heart. wub.gif

My dh & I met when I took a job as a waitress at an italian restaurant where he bartended at night. He was also a football coach at the college where I attended. He was really sweet, had gorgeous eyes, and eventaully he asked me out. I said yes, even though I had sworn off having any serious relationships. I had recently had a bad break up of a long term relationship, and I was planning on going to grad school right out of college (I was in my last semester). No men for me! rolleyes.gif

I didn't think he was the type that I'd fall for so I saw no harm in going out with him. A month later I was head over heals in love with him. We got engaged when I graduated and married the next Feb. The rest is history. wub.gif

As for children we have 4 (6,4,3, & 3 months) and I love them dearly. I would love 2 more, but I am not sure if my dh will go for that. He is a fantastic, involved Daddy, but the number 6 seems intimidating to him. Maybe he'll agree to have more, maybe not. Only time will tell....ask me agin next fall. sunflower.gif

MamaMartie replied: "Did you go to college? WHere? Major?"
Yes I graduated from Lafayette College, which is in Easton, PA. I majoed in English Literature. I miss my college days. smile.gif

"Where did you go on your first date?"

We met at a bar that was w/in walking distance of both of our apts. I kind of freaked him out when I only ordered a coke. First he thought I was a recovering alcoholic, then maybe a tea-totaler. laugh.gif I was neither. I just don't drink when I don't feel like it, even in my college days. He found that somewhat nifty.

Our first big date was to Chi Chi's. He ordered a pitcher of margarits, appitizers, main meal, and dessert. He must have known I was poor and starving. I hadn't seen that much food since I went home to my grandmother's the Easter before. I never dated anyone who had money to buy that much food at a restaurant. I was totally impressed, and stuffed. Then he took me home & didn't eve try to kiss me. My turn to wonder if he was a gentleman or just kind of weird. Luckily it turned out to be the first. wub.gif

Ahhh..fond memories. Thanks for making me think of them!

MamaMartie replied: "if you coul dlive anywhere where would you pick?"

I actually really like PA most of the time. So I don't know that I'd want to live anywhere else. I grew up in NJ, and I don't like itn there. I don't like cities (other than to visit) and I don't care for really rural places. Where I live is good for me both in size and climate. In a world where I had tons of money, I'd like a vaction home in the mountains by a river, or by the ocean, and maybe go to italy/europe in the summer for vacation. But if I had tons of money I probably wouldn't enjoy schlepping from house to house. I am a homebody at heart.

"what did you wanna be when you grew up?did you accomplish it?"

I always want to have a normal family with lots of kids and a husband I love. I've got that so I am happy.I wanted to be a good mom & wife and I think I am. I keep them happy and I don't think I've lost too much of myself. KWIM?

" if not have you ever thought about trying it?"
As for paying jobs, lets see:

First I wanted to be a dallas cowboy cheer leader. Only b/c I was 5, liked their sparkly outfits, and I knew if I said it the nun that taught our first grade class would freak out. Mission accomplished. She freaked and I was content not to grow up to wear a sparkley outfot for a living. Although I've found spit-up stains on a shirt can be quite festive.

Second I wanted to be a ballet dancer, then an actor/singer on broadway. I hated dance lessons and I can't sing my way out of a tin can so that didn't work out..did I mention that I get stage fright?

Third, I wanted to be a lawyer. I figured they made lots of money and I would never be broke. Plus my dh, when I married, couldn't divorce me and leave me broke with our children. This was around the time I was 9 and my parents marriage had completely fell apart. Not a good time. I kind of held on to that idea til I was in my last year of college. My grandmother finially talked me out of it saying that there were too many lawyers in the world. I respect her opinion a lot, so I followed it. Sometime I think it would be cool to go back to school and study law, but probably not practice it.

Fourth, I thought I would be high school english or german teacher. My german teacher encouaged me to do that. I did go to school, and finished about 1/2 of what I need for certification. I substitute taught and that was enough for me. I decided that I didn't really want to teach. too much b.s. with the parents, administrators, etc.

Fifth, I thought about being a translator, either spoken or written word. I did study a few languages and quickly picked up german and russian. My french sounds terrible (although I udnerstand what I hear and read) and I wasn't too interested in spanish. I miss studying languages most of all. I do plan to pick that up again some day.

I've always loved to write (thus my LOOOOOOONG posts) and maybe some day I'll write a novel. biggrin.gif

MamaMartie replied: "What are your favorite restaurants?

(now I'm hungry, )"

Restaurants, well that depends on my mood. Of the major chains, I like TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, & Panera's. I miss the places back home that make real philly cheese steaks. I also like expensive resaurants that are quiet & off the beaten path.

Food, like I said I love sugar, soft prezles, and lemon merangue (sp?) pie. I also like steak, shrimp, baked potaoes, homemake chicken soup, fresh bread, and anything with blue cheese.

Ok...now I am hungry! biggrin.gif

MamaMartie replied: "What's your most embarrassing moment?"

Stupid embarrassing: I fell down the main steps in highschool, while everyone was in the stairwell watching a fightin the park (the staiwell had a glass wall). My shoe when flying and bounced off the glass, so everyone turned to see me fall, and my skirt ended up around my hips (it was shirt to begin with). I lauhed it off but I felt like and idiot. I still blush 15 years later thinking about it.

Heartbreaking embarrassment involved a relationship where I dated a guy who loved someone else . he cheated on me, made me feel fat (at 116 pounds) yet I continued the relationship. I totally let him treat me like cr*p. Eventually he dumped me for a girl he was cheating on me with (who also wasn't the one he said he "loved"). rolleyes.gif It turned out ok though b/c I learned never, ever to let anyone treat me any less than how I deserve to be treated. Oh yeah, the guy eventually can crawling back & I got laugh at him and wave good bye. tank.gif

"What's your favorite childhood memory?"

Hmm, they are just little flashed of things: picnics and summer at the shore with my grandmother, the way my mom smelled and how she played with me when I was little, my dad the time he came home early b/c I asked him to, the summer of '76 when my mom & I went into Philly almost every day, Flyers games, mummers parades, and the way a hotdog, soft pretzel & a pepsi in a can taste when you buy them from a street vendor. Those thijngs all make me smile.

MamaMartie replied: wub.gif Thanks again for all the terrific questions. You ladies are the best!

Hugs,
